At least there is a Mustang in the picture. The neighborhood kids (including mine) are learning that you can build speed but you also have to pay for what you destroy - at least tire wise. My son gave my 70 year old neighbor a great run including drifts at both ends of the street. Long live FUN.

If they put the deck back on that mower, they can go earn some tire money. ;)

Good to see the up coming generations getting their hands dirty working on something instead of just getting blisters on their thumbs only playing video games.

No deck, it is what it is. It sat for 10 years. They had to trace and fix all the wiring, rebuild the starter, clean every passage in the carb, etc. All day for days on end. At least they were outside instead of sitting in front of the screen with GTA. Thinking forward, they are trying to figure out a plow for the winter.

The go kart was also a blast. They were given a bent frame last week. They pooled their money and bought a 212 cc Preditor engine from Harbor Freight, a $20 dollar no name clutch from Amazon, a chain, and went to the used bike shop and got a used cable that they made work for the throttle.

They broke in the motor for almost 3 hours without a serious load and then destroyed the tires. It drifts and breaks loose as soon as the clutch digs in. We need better tires, bigger bodies, or we need to keep it off asphalt.

My son took by 70+ neighbor on a drift session last night. I have not seen her so happy in years. This is what FUN is all about. You learn and you share.
