I was one of those that finished high school in 1966 that was the high of the Vietnam war. I took all the testing like all the guys did in high school to try to get you to enlist. I was too tall to be a pilot so I did not sign up. I had not idea that my choice of occupation as a tool & die maker would keep me out of Vietnam. I sometimes regret not going there to help save the lives of some of our hero's.
Memorial day back many years ago was called "Decoration Day" in the south. I can remember going with my grandmother to clean the burial site of some of our family. I was to honor those who lost their lives in the battle of the North and South. Over the years it changed to be to honor all those who lost their lives in battle no matter where or when.
May we all honor those that served and especially those who gave their lives so that we could all have the freedom we no have.
I thank all those soldiers that served and give the families of those who lost loved ones a special thanks for their giving and sacrifice.
