Hi all guys, I have true blue in my blood, so needed to join. I always wanted a Mustang but had to settle with a self-built replica Cobra, and yes, it is powered by Ford and a 351 Cleveland at that. So, I am in the process of building a 351C for my sprinter van, soon-to-be motor home. I first used one shortblock, i bought from some body ages ago, and by the looks of the cylinders with no ridges, decided to go ahead and assemble the motor without stripping down first. Well, it turned out a bad idea, as the motor has very little compression! I am now going with my other block, where the cam drive gear setup gave gave problems and ending up, bending valves. I will use (aussie) 2V small chamber heads and my self made IDF manifold. Question is this, the one block is a DOAE-J and the other a DOAE-L block. What would be the difference?
