Multiple Mustangs!
I had hoped the Brian, one of our members, had already posted the fantastic results of the P.I.T.S. show. There were over 1.000 entrants at one time do not know how many actually made it. Me and Brian were part of the inside 58 one mustang for each year, Brian had his Concourse 1972 Mach 1 and I had my survivor 1973 Mach 1, along with a bunch of SSP mustangs. The ones used by police, Highway patrol and some military also. There were new Cobra Jets and Trans Am cars. Of course my camera died so only phone pics. A gal had the 1971 Mach 1 that is a work in process shiny black and argent.
It was sort of an odd trophy presentation. The cars outside got awarded trophies for each year. Inside it was by generations. So from 1964 1/2 to 1973 there was only one trophy. I knew I would not get because my car is not restored but an original survivor. I had hopes the Brian would get it because his car is perfect and exceptional with that GREEN paint. When they said a 1965 fastback won that sucked.
The trophy for Best of Show was a polished copper liquor still. I told Brian he will have to set it up and run some shine.
It rained on me all the way over pulling the new enclosed trailer and crashes had me going 10 mph or just sitting at times. Got there and they were good enough to let me unload inside so not in the rain. My engine fired right up then died and would not start. So I used the starter to back out of the trailer and we pushed to the show spot. I did fire back up when I loaded so no pushing.
It was a sunny day for Friday so I walked the outside show area with over 800 cars. Most seem to be the newer models there was one 1972 Mach 1 outside and was not restored just a driver. I had planed on getting some pics of it on Saturday but that was torrential rains most of the day.
For the SSP mustangs they turned the lights down low played then song Bad Boy Bad Boy what you gong to do when they come for you. They lit up the light bars and set off the sirens. Pretty neat idea.
The trophies for classes were clay whiskey jugs.
If I had been outside I would have got a first place trophy because nobody there, lol. That is how it is at most mustang shows very few 71-73
But the 7173 Mustangs.com group can say that one of our members got BEST OF SHOW at a huge show with all years present. So finally got some attention.
I am sure Brian will post up his pictures also. His Dad was with him his good luck charm.
Again Brian great job and a fantastic Concourse build of a 1972 Mach 1.
I talked with the owner of the Mustang Owner's Museum and he said they have postponed the April show until July in hopes that North Carolina will lift restrictions for gatherings.
I got 9.7 mpg pulling the 20' enclosed trailer with the Mach 1 it through the Smoky Mountains. It has over 307,000 miles so will die soon looking for F-250 V-10.
The pics are in no order just as taken.

Congrats Brian!  I love the sport covers - you hardly ever see those anymore!  Gorgeous car!

Thanks for sharing, David!  Looks like a strong turn-out for the Clydesdales - beautiful specimens!
