1. White 71 interior quarter panels that were painted black. It is peeling and I want white. Very little damage. I used a strong stream of water and a lot of the black came off. Some of it is stubborn. I want to remove as much as I possibly can. Somewhere I heard oven off works well but internet did not seem to recommend that. I used a scrub brush to also loosen the paint. I plan to try alcohol and maybe vegetable oil. The harsher solvents that are known to damage plastics are not on the list.

2. Has anyone drilled out the snap rivets and reinstalled them? I figure it will be easy enough to remove them but where can I source replacement rivets so I can reinstall them?

To remove paint from the interior panels, try Easy Off HD, but make sure it contains lye. Be careful using it and use it outdoors. Works like a champ!
I used some basic oven cleaner in a couple of spots but it did not work. I draped cotton cloth over it and soaked it in denatured alcohol and that did help a lot but not a miracle agent.
