I picked up a 72 Grande parts car today for $500.

The good,

It is a Q code car

I have a clear title for it

It had the full instumentation package

The doors are solid

The Tach was still in car

The instrumentation wire is all there

Both front pillar trim panel were in excellent shape, no cracks or breaks

The car has plently of parts I can use

The Bad

The engine trans, rearend and hood are gone

The fenders are rusty as are the quarters and trunk lid

The oil, alt and temp gauges and bezel are gone

I broke one of the front pillar trim panels

The wiring in the car has been hacked up

All the AC stuff is gone

I picked it up over by Karval, too bad the guy I bought it from snagged the engine trans and rearend.

How is the cowl in the car? Good shape? A/C car?

I'd be interested in buying the cowl from you if you don't need it and it's OK.

The top of it is solid, I haven't looked down inside of it or under the dash yet too see if the bottom cowl is solid. I will let you know tomorrow after I go down to where I have it stored and see what I have. Yes it is a AC car but all the AC stuff is gone.

Pretty decent distance out there, but good price if it has the stuff you need. Good pick up.
It was a distance,lol.

When you say the wiring is all hacked up, Do you mean the underhood and how bad is it? I am interested in the underhood if not totally butchered. Please let me know. Thanks Tom

Does that have the grill with the sport lamps? If so would you be interested in selling it.

The wiring has been all cut up under the dash and under the hood. I think when they removed the engine they used wire cutters on all the wires instead of unhooking them.

The picture does not seem to want to work.

No it has the standard grill, has a big crack in it on the bottom side, which is too bad because the rest of it is perfect.

Bummer to see it un-restorable.

Out of the 1041 Q code hardtops (coupes) there were ? Grandes...

I'd say it's a rare one - a performance luxury Mustang.

1972 Q Codes

1041 Hardtops

8677 Fast Backs

531 Convertibles
