Replacing the carb on my 351c and a question.  The brake booster vacuum runs to the multi port tree thingy (That isthecorrct technical turm I am sure) at the back of the intake manifold as it should according to the tech book.  Is there any advantage or disadvantage to connecting it to the large port on the back of the carb instead?

Yes and if you need a spot for the pcv, you can use that port.
You can, but I tend to agree there, as according to the Holley carb manual, the PVC is at the front I guess so oil residue goes through the primary ports of the manifold. But, does it really matter as long as the oil vapor gets burnt?

There's no advantage to moving the source for the booster vacuum.

PCV should always be to whatever Holley/Edlebrock/whoever designates as the PCV port on the carburetor. The port moves around depending upon carb make and model.
