Like Monterey and DanC, I am also tracking down wiring problems. In order to get more of the interior and exterior lights working I used a Dremel tool to clean connections and replaced fuses and bulbs. In so doing I got the power seat releases to work on my car. They worked well for a while (well, 2 days) but have since gone haywire. I didn't even know this option existed until seeing it mentioned on the site.

Anyway, does anyone have pics of the mechanisms or know if there is a way to service them without pulling the covers off the seats? Are there reproduction replacement components?

Thanks in advance for any info or pics.

Just pulled the back of my seat off to get a picture for you.

This is the drivers side with the seat release on the right from

behind. When we re-upholstered my seats the mechanism

worked but is not currently connected. Its does look like

you may need to remove the upholstery to get at the screws

that hold it in place. Maybe just a bad connection or maybe

needs a little lube.

I have heard this is a rare option.

Thanks Mike. That helps a lot and in my opinion also deserves a Rep vote.

I see two screws on top and don't what is below.

You should be able to cut 10 or 12 hog rings and access

the mechanism.

I disconnected mine in my convertible. Drove me crazy with the click - click whenever I opened and closed the doors.
