I have been. The State of Nevada, various counties, ranchers, miners, Native Americans, and individuals have had long standing feuds with the BLM and Forestry Service. Both of these agencies have kicked ranchers (including Native American ranchers) off century old grazing allotments for a variety of reason, have closed public roads at a whim, etc. About 86% of the State is owned by the Federal Government, including the military (just a relatively small percentage). There has been little controversy over restricted use of military lands, most people realize the necessity.

There have been various attempts at giving the State more control over itself, including the Sagebrush Rebellion several years ago. One thing that did come out of it was requiring the BLM to sell some of its property, for development, with most of the money going back into the State for various improvements to the publicly owned lands.

there is limited information that Harry Reid has a relative that wants the land to develop windmill farm..... now this could be rumor but it is a least fascinating that Harry Reid comes out and says "this aint over". Now ask yourself...why would a senator get involved in a police type issue? Hmmm maybe its NOT a rumor.

But my call is that the public should just harass the crap out of them and leave their guns at home. the gubmint WANTS a reason to start creating a Marshall Law consciousness. After that is propped up they can increasingly develop it for the next 2 years then call for a delay in voting "for the safety of the public to reduce tensions of course"

Yup... and your last thought is one of the scenarios I dread... because it's entirely possible. The way things are going with all the executive orders, circumvention of Constitutional procedure, and power grabs opens the door for something like that to happen - and nobody will be able to do anything about it without some kind of banana republic demonstration of military power. Civil unrest and revolution within our country's borders has been done before - and nobody wins. But, that's the same case if everybody does nothing.

BLM has been grabbing land for years. They claim land that is possessed and legally owned by citizens, publish maps purporting to be the owners and all sorts of other nasty little things often in the name of saving the Desert Tortise or the spotted owl or some other animal that may or may not be in danger of extinction.

The most resent situation isn't completely one sided. The rancher at issue decided to stop paying grazing fees and tries to now claim some right in the land after having payed grazing fees in the past. He owes the feds over a million dollars by their estimates.

BLM's over the top response scares the hell out of me. Someone is likely to get killed when events like this take place. They were all lucky this time

Yup. Waco is still just "up the road a piece from here."

Right, wrong, or otherwise, anytime any Federal agency mobilizes people packin' more ammo than is normally carried any other day of the week, someone's usually gonna lose.

That 'someone' isn't always just the people on the scene, either.

Since turtles have been around for ~300 million years I don't

understand how a cow patty will make much of a difference.

Besides , I checked this online, cows don't eat turtles.

its so very sad that our elected government has become so self serving. they are now there for there own personal gain.all it seems at the expense of the people who put them there .just a thought, yes very sad or am i just way out there in left field ? i do hope im not alone

No it is always very interesting to see what the "old timers" think compared to us young ones. I'm 38 and agree constantly. But I think part of my opinion comes from serving my country. I wasn't forced like the old timers. I chose it and actually enjoy it. I don't agree with everything my elected officials send us off to do. Unfortunately the state I vote in is NY and my views are the minority. Wrong direction yes, but until the givers start out voting the takers we are screwed.

My Stang is a cranky ***** but the best car ever owned.

Forgot as far as that damn turtle goes it is a sensitive cranky *****. They say we kill them, but do some reading on it. Disturb the damn thing at all and the damn thing it pisses itself and dies. Been dealing with them at the National Training Center for years. A very horrible example of how the human race can **** up natural selection.

I am all for conservation and maintaining places for all living creatures. But at the end of the day alot of species became extinct because they couldn't adapt long before humans came along.

The esteemed Harry Reid has now label the public as "domestic terrorist"

Republican or Democrat a person with a good heart would find that incredibly WRONG and grounds for being dismissed as a "public servant"
