Replacement carb.

Want to replace my 4300 with a square bore Holley or Edelbrock. My concern is clearance as my car is a factory ram air and I’ve been told I would need a 1” spacer to raise the air cleaner because of clearance issues. I would appreciate any advice from experience, thank you.
