Rusted Rotors

Doing a front brake job on my Mustang that has not been driven in 8 years. My rotors are in good shape but terribly rusted, any suggestions on getting them back in shape???

You can have someone turn them, and take off a bit of material on both sides of the rotor

I soaked mine in a bucket of evapo rust and they came out looking new. Also works great for hinges, brackets etc.

+1 one on turning the rotors...-10 on driving it (will contaminate the new pads) I soak my rusted parts in vinegar to remove rust and it always does the job but not sure I would soak my brake parts in anything.

Wire brush in a grinder will work - make sure you do it outside!

Just remember that if you soak them in something to remove the rust, you'll need to clean & repack the wheel bearings and install new seals, if they're stock rotors/hubs.
