I am in the process of refurbishing my steering column and I cannot recall which way the firewall seal for a manual transmission goes?

I've had a look through the shop manuals/online/etc but not able to find a picture that clearly shows this. I've attached a picture of what I have loosely assembled.

I know the clutch rod goes through this seal but I don't have that setup in the car yet to go by. Wondering if anyone has a good picture...

I don't have a picture but I'm pretty sure Ford would have spaced out the three bolts, so it could only be bolted in when properly orientated.

From memory your boot and bracket should be rotated 180 degrees

Boot should point down on the drivers side of the steering column.

I agree with Don. the rod boot goes on the drivers side pointing down, and opposite of the reverse/parking lock arm.

More cursing required than I thought there would be to install the column.
