I'm now in the process of rebuilding my front suspension and steering. I have included two photos of the strut I removed, along with the hardware that secured the strut to the old LCA, and the new LCA.

I am not sure the nuts securing the strut to the control arm are correct. With the distance between the nut and the hole in the bolt, I am thinking that possibly a tall castle nut would be used in this application along with a cotter pin.

I have two questions regarding this assembly.

1. Is the nut in the photo securing the strut to the LCA correct?

2. Should there be any type of insulator between the surfaces of the LCA and the strut, or is it a metal to metal connection ?

Thanks
