Well, technically speaking he could have put a "460 Cobra Jet" in there since Ford has been selling 460 Cobra Jet crate motors for several years. ( very nice motors, with the John Kaase heads and all).

And I believe those are in the $7000-$8000 range.

The modification they did must have been awesome: to take an engine that comes stock with well over 600 hp to the wheels and then make it lose 30% of that power.

Of course, we all know that most probably not case here.

And I have been a mechanic for over 30 years, and I have seen and worked on a few automotive A/C units in my day.

But......I have never seen....even ONE TIME....an A/C unit that "works fine, but is not hooked up".

Maybe if I was a better mechanic I would not have wasted all my customer's time and money making sure thier A/C units were hooked up correctly, since that is apparently not neccesary.
