OK... So if you had to be left on a deserted Island, and only had one luxury: the ability to listen to music... but your choice of music was limited to 4 bands. what would they be?

In other words, you can listen to all music from all four bands, but only music from those 4 bands...

Here's mine:

1) Pink Floyd - I love everything thy have made since Dark Side of the moon (except teh Final Cut), and some of their earlier stuff too.

2) Dire Straits - Love their more obscure music. Mark Knopfler is an amazing guitarist. Brothers in Arms is an amazing album and the title song is simply perfect.

3) Neil Young - Probably one of teh most prolific songwriters ever... Love his stuff with Krazy Horse. He is also an amazing guitarist, with phenomenal precision on accustic.

4) Moody Blues - I can get lost in their music, anticipating the next note.

To me... every other band is a distant 5th.

Let's hear what your top 4 are!

1 Molly Hatchet (for rock)

2 Brad Paisly (for country)

3 Tony Rice (for acoustic guitar)

4 Christine Tally (for female soothingness)

As you can see I have covered all my favorite forms of guitar sounds, timing, and Christine is a local singer (with perfect pitch) that I record for...I could listen to her sing all day

Audio books count to:

1) time life: how to build a boat on a desert island and get off it.

2) time life: how to navigate a boat by stars and build your own Sextant

3) time life : how to build a radio from coconuts

4) time life: how to survive on a desert island

Before I even saw your list, I was with you on 2 of the 4.

Dire Straits/Mark Knophler's guitar, On any Street is my most played of all their albums.

Moody Blues- I sorta remember at one of the Moody's concerts.....Hehheh, never mind.

For my list though You'd have to start with,

ZZ Top!!, I used to see them at a club in Houston, when they were "The Moving Sidewalks" fer Real!!

And finally fer a more recent band, "Grace Potter and the Nocturnals", Grace is somewhere between Janis Joplin and Grace Slick, plays everything from keyboards, drums, acoustic & "Flying Vee" electric guitar. The woman Flat ROCKS the vocals!!

On Tubo's deserted island, there might not be any beer. However Rum Drinks and Don Julio Tequila solos are de regueur.

Most of the above sounds great.

Pink floyd

AC/DC

ZZ-Top

And as my number 4.. have to add Creedence Clearwater...I could always lisin to there album's all the way threw.

I'm not surprised we all have somewhat similar tastes in music.

Others off the top of my head that would probably make my top 10:

CSN

Fleetwood Mac

CCR

Doors - some I love, others I can't stand

Talking Heads - some I love, others I can't stand

Joe Walsh/Eagles/James Gang

Eric Clapton

Wow, if you would have added Santana I'd be proposing to you.

The Eagles never did a song I don't like

According to my WinAmp playlist, I'd hafta go with:

Rush

Pink Floyd

Boston

Collective Soul

But then I'd also want:

Van Halen

Bowling For Soup

Queen

Queensryche

Judas Priest

Scorpions

Def Leppard

Queensryche

Motley Crue

The Cult

Linkin Park

Berlin

Electric Light Orchestra

Alan Parsons Project

and finally, Weird Al Yankovic (to help with the depression)

But 72HCode's answer - FTW!!! ::thumb::
