Hi All,

just wondering what bands or singers you've seen over your lifetime?

I've seen:

AC/DC

Iron Maiden

Thin Lizzy

Alice Cooper

Jeff Beck

Eric Clapton

Mark Knopfer

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Gary Moore

Dave Lee Roth

Also saw Nirvana by accident back in 1990 when they were unknown. They were a pile of crap.

I grew up in the SF Bay Area, born in 1961. We went to concerts far more than we went to the movie theater. So about any Bay Area concert from about 1977 through 1995 when I left the state. All of the big names of the day and multiple shows from the local names. The best of them all was The Last Waltz when The Band closed shop. Just incredible.

Oh, let's see if I can remember them all.

TOTO. seen them at least 8 times, even with Jeff Porcaro on drums on his last tour. Got to meet the whole band one day after a gig.

STEVE LUKATHER (At least 3 time on solo tours outside Toto)

LOS LOBOTOMIES

AC/DC

MARK KNOPFLER

THE EAGLES

SIMPLY RED (Don't beat me please!)

BRAD PAISLEY

THE BAND PERRY (Both of them at a gig in Chula Vista /San Diego)

TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS

STEEL PANTHER (Yeah Baby)

THUNDER

GREAT WHITE (opened the show for both of them)

ALANNAH MYLES

STATUS QUO

BRIAN MAY

PHIL COLLINS

CHER (back in the days of "If I Could Turn Back Time" Absolutely great show!)

GLORIA ESTEFAN

B.B. KING

WALTER TROUT

LUTHER ALLISON (Who became quite a good acquaintance over time)

BERNARD ALLISON

CARL VERHEYEN and Band

GOV'T MULE

BRIAN SETZER

A few Italian superstars, does anybody in the US know them?

EROS RAMAZOTTI

Haven't been in a long time but used to go a LOT.

Started making a list and it was too long! Back in the mid-70's through the mid-late 80's I went with a big group to almost every concert that came through Oklahoma City, Tulsa and sometimes Dallas. We some great 'hookups' to get killer seats. Sometime the seats were comp'd = FREE!!!

Went to a lot of the stadium outdoor all-day into the night events with MANY bands at each venue. Some would have 7-12 bands scheduled!!!! Looking back I don't know how we did it. I faintly remember we were feeling no pain... WOW

Other concerts were because of girl(s) I was dating at the time wanted to go. :dodgy: Even some of those surprised me.

One of my favorites was a upcoming jazz-fusion band called Spyro Gyra. They were relatively unknown playing an old abandoned movie theater. The mixer was setup in the middle of a row of seats - we sat just next to him. The performers would come into the audience as they played. It was very intimate setting almost like a private performance. They went on to become fairly popular. I saw them a few more times after that.

Nice to remember.

And if anyone has any old T-Shirts from old concerts (LIKE ERIC) - SCAN or take good pics of them and email them to me (please).

I've got a few older ones from car shows too... THX

I was not expecting to see another 'The Tubes' in this thread. I have seen them more than a dozen times in various configurations. (Fee wasn't part of the band for a while. Vince went to the Dead (RIP Vince) and Spooner hasn't played with them for a while).

I always wanted to see Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, and the Who, never got a chance to do so.

After reading the above posts, I remembered a few I had forgotten in my initial post. Here we go:

Yes

Jethro Tull

Black Sabbath

Steve Vai

Depeche Mode

Massive Attack (longest 2 hours of my entire life. :( )

And I'm sure there are more I forgot.
