This car was made into a Show car back in the 70's. It has only 20K on it. My guess is the Original Owner took off the braces for the look only. If it make a difference to anyone who is interested in the car I will provide a set of original shock tower braces for it. As far as the asking price...
Yes,when the original owner made it into a show car He did some interesting things. Putting a TV in the dash was one of them. Not my idea of a good time but that was His vision.
I have decided to sell my 71 Mach-1. I bought this car form the original owner. It has 20,000 original miles on it and was a former show car. This car has been lightly customized bt the original owner. The car is located in North Carolina. Serious inquiries only please. Price is 17,500
I have an original Q code motor in a 74 Torino. I don't know how many were made but its probably a leftover 73 motor. The whole drivetrain is original. It has a C6 and a 9 inch behind it. Just PM me if your interested.
Even if California issues you a title with the original VIN of the car you won't have a dash VIN,right?? I think without the original FORD stamped 71 dash VIN the value is going to be affected. You would invest more money in the car and potentially never get it back out of the car.
This is a very good point. The Dash VIN is the Vin that registers the car in most states,if not all states. That VIN could be on another car in another state? Who knows. I would also consider this a parts car until you have the dash VIN for it. 7500 is still quite a bit to give for something...
Not yet. The owner has all my contact info for me and has decided not to use it. Not sure why? At least I know its still alive. I have not given up yet. As soon as something changes I will be sure to post it here. Bob
I got a phone call from the attorney today and my old car is still out there. It was not crushed.... I have not talked to the owner yet but I am hopeful I will in the near future. Once I get the full story I will let everyone know. This is GREAT news.:)
Thanks for the offer. I am still hoping to hear something but there are no guarantees here. I would buy the car in any condition but I am not sure I will have that chance. I just can't get past the abandoned car thing. How can something like this eve happen? It does explain why none of my...
Well its time for an update on this saga. Not sure where this is going but at least I have more information. Seems the legal action was nothing more then an application for a title for an abandoned car. Thats right,my car was abandoned.....I still have a hard time saying that! I think in...
Kurt,
I have had many of my Buddy's run the vin over the years. It did not come up. I don't think its been registered in many years. It may be even decades since its been on the road. I don't know. At this point at least I know its still out there.
Its a little different in todays world so...
Paul,
Its great to read about all the Happy Endings when it come to cars and their previous owners. I would really love to have my old car back and write a happy ending to this story too. I have my doubts now as its been more then 2 days since I called and since it was in a legal dispute of...
Thanks everyone for the support on this. So far I have not heard anything back. I will try again tonight.
It really was a pretty cool car. I bought 5 new 15 inch Magnums from Ford when I first bought the car and mounted new BFGoodrich T/A Radials on it. I also painted it the exact factory color...
