More progress!!!
The TKO600 showed up and we got right to installing that on the motor. The Modern Driveline Kit was great. Everything went just about perfect with that. Then we installed the FPA headers. Here's where the nightmare began. The flanges were warped to start but Stan assured me...
I was looking at the small block engine bracket and it looks pretty similar. I would assume the bolt hole spacing is the issue. Figured if I had to make one I would get that and modify it.
Thanx!
Hi all,
Does anyone know if they reman the 71 429 ENGINE SIDE Z bar equalizer bracket? Even an aftermarket one of any kind will work for me. If not I will end up making one but I'd rather take the easy way and buy one.
Thanx,

Thanx Tim.
Just got my quote from Modern DriveLine for the TKO600. Get that ordered up in the next couple days. I'd like to have this ready to roll by May 1st.
Two of the poly locks hit the baffle in the valve cover (one on each side). I put em on the lathe and turned them down a little and put em back on. Fit good now with single standard gaskets,
Hello,
Making progress on my project so I thought I would post some info. It's a 351 CJ Mach1 car but not stock at all so I didn't feel bad about bastardizing it. It was originally a 351 CJ auto car that was gold with black interior and a vinyl top. It's now black with ginger interior and a 4...
I just received my FiTech Meanstreet 800. The motor isn't done and ready to install so I can't put this baby on yet, BUT I'M DYING TO!!! I also bought the FiTech command center. I'm hoping for great things. I've read a lot of great reviews and I don't think I've read one bad one yet.
None planned right now. I want to get the motor and TKO 600 in and functioning first. I'm putting FiTech fuel injection also. So once all that is up and running then I'll go from there.
Has anyone installed the stainless steel shorty headers that are all over ebay for like $150? Says they fit a 71 Mustang. Just wondering about fitment.
Got the parts back from balancing and started putting the 521 together. Never built a BBF stroker before. With the 4.300 crank there are no clearance issue at all. I was kind of amazed by that. I was expecting things to be close. I will start a post in the Project Builds as I get further along.
