Well, I tried fixing the broken one but no luck. So I just ordered a replacement. All is good and working now. The tabs didn't matter. Fit just fine. 👍
Cheers,
Dan
Thank you! I hadn't thought of that. I'll go double-check and see if that's the case.
I also noticed last night after posting that part of the inside plastic frame of the chrome rocker piece was cracked, which may explain why the switch only worked in one direction... that is to say, when...
I would try to repair this but I think the problem is pushing the rocker doesn't fully engage the metal springs on one of the directions. I don't know if that is repairable... plus I'd need to superglue the broken plastic.
Ahh, so much fun!

I bought this part from CJ Pony Parts:
https://www.cjponyparts.com/cj-classics-turn-signal-wiring-mustang-with-fixed-steering-wheel-1970-1972/p/TSW7/
And when I finally got around to installing it I realized two things: (1) I didn't need to replace the turn signal because I just needed a new...
Turns out my passenger window works fine, but the rocker switch is bad.
Part #: C9AB-14529-B
I took it off to try and clean it and see if I could get it working and broke the plastic while taking the chrome part out. (🤦♂️)
So I'm interested in something like this:
Except that the one I...
Greetings all!
I've finally got all the pieces for a complete redo of my '72 convertible canopy but I don't know what kind of glue to use (for the well liner, the front of the canopy and the few other places it may need gluing. Should I just get the spray glue cans (like 3M) or is there a...
Thanks everyone!
I think the only reason I was thinking they needed some adhesive was when I pulled them out they felt like they were slightly stuck to the metal. I also wasn't sure if they'd shift around without any adhesive, but since they are form fit to the footwells, maybe not. Anyway, it...
BTW, I should add. The mats themselves are fine... just dirty (and old glue/ick on the bottom). They aren't ripped or worn in any way I can see that would necessitate me trashing them. But I don't know if keeping them (under the new carpet of course) is good or not.
Hello!
I'm redoing the carpet interior on my 72 convertible. When I removed the old stuff (which was nasty, btw!), there were a few rubber mats/strips underneath, probably to dampen noise and provide additional padding? They were slightly attached to the metal (old glue) and pulled up easily...
Hi all!
So I've been reading the Project Mustang book by Larry Lyles and really enjoying it as I plan out my tear down and rebuild. One of the first things, though, is to remove the air conditioner compressor before pulling the engine+tranny. However, I don't know if the A/C compressor still...
Thanks, all! Good info. I ordered replacement motor mounts. I'll start with those and see how the frame mounts look when I'm putting in the new motor mounts.
It's funny, because the goal is to strip it down and rebuild it, but I realized that I've never actually _pushed_ the engine because of...
Man, I love this forum!
Hemikiller, thanks for the link. I had been looking at mustangsunlimited but somehow didn't find those exact set. It looks like you just flip them for the other side so I'll get 2 and be good to go.
I'm going to check it again this weekend to see where the flex/movement...
So tonight a buddy helped me locate the metallic knocking/rattling sound when accelerating. Turns out the engine is flexing and the fan is hitting the fan shroud. Probably a bad motor mount, my buddy suggested.
I didn't look at it close enough (shame on me) to see if it's the motor mount or...
