Vibration when running engine at 1200-1700 rpm’s and crusing about the same.

Or a vacuum leak, which can be very hard to find and can truly drive someone mad.

Slow down! You’re charging ahead after a major mechanical problem without checking the low-hanging fruit first. This sounds like most likely an ignition or carburetor problem. Off the top of my head, a bad diaphragm in the distributor might cause it, or really anything broken in the distributor...

AOD swap OD question - Answered

It is designed to downshift to 2nd whenever you need it to downshift, so that is set up properly. As for shifting up to OD in town, that makes me wonder what rear end gear ratio you have. It really shouldn't do that under about 45 mph.

    Cool new gauge set up

I've looked at a lot of the aftermarket gauge sets, but I could just never let go of my red horse highbeam indicator.

Did anyone see this? Another hack job at Mecum goes for $51,500!

Judging from the interior finish, it rolled over at least once. No way does that much wear happen in 26,000 unless it’s a Mopar.

    Who has the oldest tires?

Rubber gets harder and more slippery as it ages. After about 8-10 years, tires become crap.

5 Reasons to Adopt Orphan Car Projects

5 Reasons to Adopt Orphan Project Cars Hey all, I just found this article on Hagerty, and I thought it was an interesting read. We’re not quite the rare and strange car group they’re talking about, but I think we’re pretty close. ‘71-73 ‘Stangs are the least loved of the originals, the hardest...

    FMX swop for AOD

I did find it eventually: inside the car! The NSS for the FMX wires into the shifter housing, so my understanding is that there's no need to wire into the AOD. I have the original AOD pigtail if I need it, but unless the transmission needs to be wired in for some reason, it should all work...

    FMX swop for AOD

Where does the original wiring come from? All I have is wiring that goes into the shifter. Is that supposed to be cut? The FMX had no wiring going into it that I can find. Thanks!

    Stroke of luck (Hopefully)

When I put my ‘73 together the first time, I put on Cherry Bombs with a flange and a turndown to get it to the muffler shop. Got pulled over for it, but it was technically up to code at the time. It’s just enough to take the edge off the loudness, but still pretty loud. I don’t know if Cherry...
