Thank you guys! Luckily I live in Florida so I may have to make a trip over to N P D in Ocala.

    Fluid leaking from the quarterpanel

Yep. What a mess that was. I had an exhaust leak and found exhaust fluid all over the garage! ;)

    Fluid leaking from the quarterpanel

I've heard of blinker fluid, but my convertible just started leaking quarter panel fluid on the passenger side. I'm thinking its a top actuator. The brakes feel good and the fluid isn't low so I'm thinking top. Does anyone make rebuild kits?

    Body Side Moldings (protection package)

Thanks Guys. I hadn't thought of selling them. I think the body looks cleaner without them but the car is 90% original and I'm the second owner so I want to maintain its value. I'm thinking of removing them and replacing them with the adhesive moldings that are available aftermarket. Once I cut...

    Body Side Moldings (protection package)

My 73 convertible has body side moldings which were part of the protection group. I'm planning on having the car painted and I'm pondering whether to keep them or not. I have searched many online catalogs and Mustang sites but I never come across replacement moldings. I'm not sure what attaches...

    1971-1973 Convertible Manual Trans

I have a 1973 Blue/ Blue interior and a white top. I bought it in 1994 with 86,000 miles it from the original owner. Today it has 109.000 miles and I now drive it everyday to work. In the past year I've replaced the brakes, calipers, wheel cylinders, hoses, axle bearings, control arms, shocks...

    COWL VENT GRILLES

The cowl vent grilles have dried and deteriorated on my '73 Convertible. I cant seem to find them anywhere. The passenger side is part number D1ZB65018A16-AA and I'm afraid to remove the drivers side because it's so brittle. Any leads will be appreciated. ::thumb::

71 Mustang front shocks are destroying top bushings

Considering the configuration of the suspension I don't understand why everyone is not having the same problem. My shock bushings are also compressed to the point of destruction. When I look at the design of the suspension though, there is a travel limiting bumper that contacts the upper control...

14 to 15 inch tires and wheels

I have a '73 convert that needs tires so I'm considering upgrading from the 215/70/14 white walls to an aftermarket aluminum wheel and 15" tires. Tire rack recommends a 7" wheel with 215/65/15 tires but I'm reading that a lot of members are using tires larger than that. Id like to go as large...

    door hinge pins & bushings

I replaced mine years ago but the one thing I remember was that the door weighs A TON! One hinge at a time is the way to go and support the door with a floor jack and wood block.

Severe front suspension vibration with column shake too

My 73 convertible has the same Violent vibration between 45 - 55 mph. When I say Violent, I mean the steering column shakes left to right and you can see the windshield pillars doing the same! Its worse on turns which leads me to believe that it would be suspension related but the front end is...

    Monte Carlo bar fitment issues

I just replaced the front coil springs in my '73 convertible and tried to add the monte carlo bar from NPD as well but I'm having the same issue of hitting the compressor and distributor. Are there any updates to this post? It's like walking out before the end of a murder/mystery movie...

    Sanden Compressor Conversion

I just completed a conversion a few hours ago. Being in the business I did the job as I know it to be done correctly. There are thing involved that classic air doesn't mention such as whenever you replace a compressor you should flush the evaporator, Condensor and lines. I also replaced the...

    Hi from the Motor City

I just discovered and joined this week. I have a 73 convertible that I purchased in 1994 from the original owner. He bought the car up north when he retired and drove it down here to Florida where it's been residing ever since. It has a 302, 3 spd, a/c, ps, pb, gauges and the protection...
