Im probably gonna go with a 14" slick. Im planning on giving the 408 some juice. Im thinking a 200 hit would do pretty well. After that im thinking D1SC Procharger. Should be pretty fun.
that helped alot i like both of the first two setups. tires outside of the fender is a pet peeve of mine. I think im gonna run it like that for a little while until i backhalf it and put a mustang II front suspension in it.
Does anyone have their car set up for street/strip and if so could you post some pics. Ide like to see what these look like with a fat set of slicks or radials on them.
My one experience with mega squirt was terrible. It was on a 60s malibu with a LT1 from a corvette. That thing was a nightmare. It sounds like yours is working out much better. I have thought about getting the edelbrock fuel injection setup for my 408W but i think i will just go with an 850...
If iis just surface rust a wire wheel wont hurt anything. If there ar any pin holes or paper thin spots the wire wheel will make them very apparent. Thats no a bad thing though as you can repair those spots then go with the POR or rust bullet.
I like it TNFASTBACK, clear it and call it good. I would use an aircraft stripper first to get rid of the bulk of the paint then da/orbital what little is left off to a clean bare metal.
If the engine is going to be sitting for a while before you fire it up use assembly lube. if its going to be fired up with in a couple of hours then some 10w40 should be fine.
I dont have a 71-73 mustang yet. Im looking at buying one to drop the 408W im building. With the combo i have im hopeing to get just over 500hp at the crank. Im going to back half it and cage it pretty much off the bat. Defininatly looking foward to any help i can get on this forum.
