No not stroking it.  I am trying not to go overboard on the motor.  Yall are getting close to convincing me to just use the iron heads.  I am just wondering if I would still be better off getting the AFD heads if they are $1700 per set like Kevin says.

Is there a way to tell which heads I have with the engine in the car??  As long as the numbers match like the PO said then it should be a 72 351cj. Also, Did the heads not have the correct pistons stock???

Ok I thought that opening had something to do with the egr.  It is the opening on the passenger side of the intake with the 2 bolts shown in barnett468's pic below..  I have a 650 holley (not stock 4777) on mine that does have a mechanical choke on it but the PO blocked off the opening with a...

Do they make a block off plate for what I am guessing is the EGR port in the intake?  If so can someone post a link?  If they don't how are you guys blocking the hole off?

It will be a cruiser, occasional trip down the strip.  I want low end power WOW!  You are close.  I work in uptown Charlotte. Looks like these are almost $1700 per head.

Thanks! I am still trying to decide if I want to go aluminum or keep the iron heads. Im guessing it will be about a $500 difference if I go edelbrocks or stick with machining the iron heads. Any thoughts, advice??

Roll down qtr windows

The PO evidently liked curbs.  My trim rings are all scuffed up.  Can they be smoothed out and polished or are they "pot" metal and have to be re chromed?

There is a thread somewhere on the parts and the process to follow for converting to roll down qtr windows but I cant find it in the search.  Does anyone have it bookmarked or can you find it on a search???

When I go to the machine shop what all do I want them to do to my heads if I go this route instead of running aluminum's?  List please. :D What porting should I do before taking the heads to the machine shop?  gasket match intake and exhaust ports?  Smooth out exhaust ports?  Any polishing for...

One thing that worries me about the stock heads is finding a machine shop that knows what they are doing with Cleveland heads. My understanding from the 351c forum is that a lot of machine shops wont touch the Cleveland head. No idea why.

Im still somewhat on the fence about the heads. I was figuring it would cost me $1500 to completely rework my 4v's with new valves, seats, rocker stud conversion and the rest of the needed machining. It is going to be frustrating to have to buy 2 sets of headers!!
