    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

I use that saying frequently about a number of things. If that was a real Boss 302, who ever did that should serve prison time. I'd love to have my Boss 302 back. Chuck

    351 2v to 4v conversation

A lot depends on how you intend to use the car MOST of the time. In town cruiser, highway cruiser, bracket race, or something else. The Edelbrock performer RPM intake would work for all of those uses. A good Dura-Spark style distributor, or MSD, triggering an amplifier box (dura Spark I, MSD...

    MSD repair service

They told me the max repair cost was $144.00, for my pre- Digital 6AL. It may be different for newer models or "potted" off-road or marine models. I'm glad to get the car running again for that sum. The person I dealt with is Jonathan Lowman. He called himself " low man on the totem pole". He ia...

Cleaning up parts - recommended method and products?

I use Simple Green Aircraft and Precision cleaner to clean a variety of parts. Including carbs in an ultrasonic cleaner (10% cleaner the rest distilled water). I've also had good results using S-100. It is a bit pricey but can be diluted with water and still work well. Chuck

    MSD repair service

I found the MSD 6AL ignition box was causing a parasitic drain of 40-50mA. I sent it to MSD to be repaired. They fixed it for $80.55. A bargain compared to the cost of a new box. Turn-around time was about two weeks not counting shipping days. They replaced 3 transistors, two resistors, and a...

Sorry to hear that about Eaton spring and lack of customer support. I guess things have changed for the worse. Chuck

    Front Suspension drop

Assuming you got all the parts back together properly, I'd think Eaton made a mistake. Contact them, describe the problem, and send some pictures. They have a good reputation and should be able to help you resolve the problem. Chuck

    Oil pump shaft drama

I have reused when in a pinch without a problem. I have thrown away the last two sets of Fuel-Pro end seals as they were too wide front to back. Now using Victor-Reintz (sp) or Mahle depending on what is available. Good luck with the install. Chuck

Why did you need "crank spacers"? What are you using for end seals on the pan? Chuck

    Waking up a 6

HEI is un-needed and is "double bagger ugly". As others have said, a pertronix I will get the job done for your application. Every older car I've owned benefitted from 4-6 degrees more initial advance. Does the engine run-on now? If so, what is the idle speed? More initial advance won't stop...

NOS Still in Crate Boss 302

The $50K is a pipe dream. $15K for the rebuilt one, if the parts are ALL correct, is within reason. Original parts for Boss 302 parts are eye watering. Prices are even higher for 1969 Boss 302 unique parts. Chuck

    Paint help.

SEM has a system for custom mixing paint and putting it an aerosol spray can. The trick is finding a paint store that has the system. The paint code is 6 on a 1969 Mercury Cougar. Chuck

    351C 2V Heads Help

What Boilermaster said. Chuck "I would add, don't chase numbers on a timing curve unless you 100% know where TRUE TDC is, Ford balancers can and will slip as well as the pointer can be manipulated keep retarding timing until the detonation is gone (that will save your engine."
