    73 H code with 4V engine

In 1973 the 'Ram Air' option was only available with the 'H' code 2bbl.

    The bullit sells

You have to wonder what the capital gains tax will be on the sale. No question the gov will be chasing down what they think they are owed. Originally purchased for $3,500 and sold for $3.5M....

351c heat riser Is it really necessary?

Back in the day when these were new off the dealer's lot, if you lived in the rust belt region and drove the car as a daily driver on the salted roads in the winter season (which 95% of owners did), the heat riser sheet metal around the exhaust manifold typically rusted away within 2-3 years...

    David Snyder Mustang cruise poster

I purchased this David Snyder poster from him at after talking with him at one of the National MCA shows in Ohio.  I remember mentioning at the time he needed to include more 71-73 mustangs in his art scenes.  He asked if I had one at the show and I replied I had the blue glow 73 convertible. ...

Trunk mat for 1973 Mach 1?

Since most 73 mustang models did not come with trunk mats from the factory, it can be whatever pattern you want.

    power adjustable pedals

Could be an interesting, but extremely expensive conversion. First thoughts that come to mind in order to accomplish adjustable pedals in any vintage mustang would be to convert brake and acceleration pedals to drive-by-wire (include clutch for manual transmissions). Then engineer a system to...

    Original seat upholstery

Unless you are planing on using car as a daily driver, you should be fine. Use common sense; don't keep wallet in rear pockets, don't spill coffee on fabric....etc. Also, replacing a section like a matching side bolster fabric is pretty straightforward process for upholstery person who knows...

3-Speed manual clutch change advice needed

With the car properly supported on jack stands high enough to access the transmission & bell-housing it can be done in a driveway (which is what many of us have done). Remove driveshaft (check u-joints while you have it out), unbolt linkage, support rear of engine (blocks under oil pan will...

    Details 1972 351C keeps stalling

Aside from issues resulting from old fuel and leaking top, it sounds like you still have a pretty significant vacuum leak. Check base of carb with straight edge, install new base gasket, try spraying carb cleaner at base when idling to see if idle rises (source of vacuum leak)

    Driver Side Mirror

Each cable end should be color coded with a daub of paint (might be faded / dirty).  Ferrules at the ends slip into a notch and all are held in place with a small (but strong) spring -- don't lose the spring!  I would recommend placing fresh color code on each cable end to make re-assembly...

Brake fluid in brand new system: is it synthetic?

Back in 2007 I was finishing my 69 Mustang vert restomod and installed DOT 5 thinking it would be advantageous for all the usual reasons (resistant to water since it spends more time sitting than not, won't hurt paint if it develops leak, etc). It had a SSBC drum to disk conversion kit. In...

Brake fluid in brand new system: is it synthetic?

From the LEED Brakes website: Silicone Brake Fluid Caution: While silicone brake fluid has its many advantages it also has a few weaknesses with today’s brake systems. In order to use silicone brake fluid your entire brake system must be composed of all peroxide cured EPDM seals. Silicone...

Choosing a Convertible for my Mom

IMO, the 71' M code is the more interesting ride. The description appears straightforward. M-code with air would be fun ride. The extra 10K can take care of quite a few items.

    Boot cover pads

New 1" foam pads with adhered cotton covers used to come with the new boot covers. Last boot covers I ordered came with 1/4" foam pieces (useless unless folded over once or twice). As it usually happens, the penny pinching accounting dept must have decided the 1" pieces were not necessary.

Front Bushing damage when lifting car

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ptp-19-901-bl/overview/ For $6, these were the last set I had to buy for my 73 vert. About eight years ago, I had noticed my front shock bushings (purchased from local auto parts store in 'Help' section) were completely destroyed after couple hundred miles...

need help identifying car body color

Finding auto paint supplier to provide custom aerosol cans could be expensive. Once color is scanned and they mix up a pint or so, pick up a Preval sprayer (and appropriate thinners for paint and cleanup) https://www.amazon.com/Preval-0225-2-Pack/dp/B00CW809ZO or...
