LOOOOONG overdue intro from 71 Mach 1 owner

Also welcome back as stated by others. As stated we have several members in TN including myself in the greater Chattanooga area. Great story on your mustang life. Glad to hear your Dad's 65 is keeping you together and spending quality time.

Did anyone see this? Another hack job at Mecum goes for $51,500!

It has the right color to catch a buyers eye. Lets be honest though, most folks aren't deep into many details as the folks in this forum. They will probably drive it for a little while and move it along to the next owner. One thing that does stand out to me is the presentation of the car...

    73' Detailing Information

Let me know if you would like more pictures of the car other than what the article shares. Send me a DM and we can figure out the best way to send them to you. They are large files so in the past I have put on CD's for members, but a memory stick may also work well. One interesting note on...

    73' Detailing Information

Good 71-73 survivor car documented in Motor Trend years ago. I actually documented this car before it was sold to the owner that commissioned Bob Perkins to give it a once over. The car was in Lavaca, AR back then. I have posted many pictures on the site over the years...

    73' Detailing Information

If that is your car it looks good. The underside of the car was painted slop gray up to the bottom of the floor pan (toe kick area). The the engine bay and front inner wheel wells and firewall were painted satin black. The car then went into body color with the front engine bay being covered...

    Bob Perkins' 1971 Boss 302 - restored

I have not watched the video's so this may be mentioned. There was actually a blue 71 Boss 302 that was built with silver stripes. It has not been rediscovered yet. Possibly already recycled if handled in the same manner and believed to be a run of the mill mach 1. I have seen the car several...

Garage storage during the East Coast Winter questions?

No need to keep it warm. Better to make a plan to keep mice and other critters out of the garage. I would invest in mouse bait traps and I also place Grampa Gus mouse repellant packets in the trunk and interior in several locations. I place the packets in a small aluminum foil bowl I make...
