    Center armrest console install

Thanks for the comment Mike, not sure how the dashboard could be installed incorrectly, the center bezel is not screwed in and connected right now, just holding a spare bezel in place in the pic. The complete dash and center stack/bezel has been in place for a couple of years now and just...

    Center armrest console install

Guys, this is whooping my butt, I had the short console around my FMX auto shifter and recently picked up a long center console from a member here. When going to install, it will not line up or fit properly under my center stack bezel. If I leave it about an inch from the rear of the shifter...

    NPD Greed

I just placed an order with NPD on Tuesday at about 3;30 or so and it arrived today with no delays. The part I ordered is very light and I found the shipping very reasonable. If I need a part and it is in stock, I always order from NPD because they ship so quickly. In fact, I just ordered...

    Convertible Seat Platform Bolts

If memory serves me correctly, that is a stud that is threaded into the insert. It helps to locate and install the seat once the carpet is installed. Good luck Tom

Problems getting response from CJ Pony Parts

I agree with Hemi, look up their customer service number and grab a beer because you will be on hold for a while if not calling right around 8-9AM when I believe they open. I have also heard good things about their chat option but personally prefer to speak to a live person. Any of my returns...

    Odd ignition key issue

I may have to try the NPD one as well. My Standard Motor replacement stuck when I installed. I ended up removing the small brass pin that keeps the cylinder locked in place so it cannot be removed. Works very well now with the pin removed, also able to remove the cylinder without taking the...

    Good welding helmet

I have an Eastwood auto darkening helmet and it was better than my earlier Harbor Freight helmet. It has the dial settings as well and I think I keep mine around the 9 setting as well. I had a hard time seeing the puddle as well and picked up a Mig Light at Eastwood and it surprisely helped a...

    Instrument Cluster Lights Out

Also, you may want to reach out to Randy (aka: Midlife), he is a well known and supporting member here and he created a hardwire kit for me on my 73 instrument cluster that does not use the ribbon circuit board. Works very well and no issues since installation. Good luck. Tom

73 to 71-72 rear bumper conversion help needed

I didn't like the fit of the plastic fillers on each side so I went with the 71-72 quarter panel extensions on mine. I also have the 71-72 front fenders, grill and bumper on mine. Then I found that the bumper stuck out a little further on both sides than the original bumper. I rectified that...

Does the back of my instrument cluster (IC) look right?

Great job Steve, I may do the same for my old non-working one as well. Thanks for the update. Tom

Does the back of my instrument cluster (IC) look right?

Steve, I can't help you with the IVR positioning as mine has a hardwire connection from Midlife. I can say that I changed my fuel sending unit in the tank out as well only to find that my fuel gauge itself was bad. Luckily, I had one on hand and that one worked well. Good luck and hope you get...

    Super high Idle speed?

I agree with basstrix above, sounds like choke related if it drops down after getting to operating temp. If it stayed at the higher RPMs afterwards, I would look to the fast idle needing adjustment. What is your idle after it gets to operating temps when it drops down? Good luck Tom

    Tranny removal

I agree with Rcadd1ct above, getting the car up high enough to accomodate the size of the bell housing is a chore. When I dropped mine, while underneath, I removed the torque converter, then removed my bell housing, then moved the trans out on the jack. Did the same when reinstalling it. The...

    Please help. Starter keeps running

Kevken, as far as having to be careful how far you turn the ignition cylinder comment, I also had that exact same issue with my aftermarket over the shelf lock cylinder. The pin that holds the cylinder locked in place and presses in when you turn the key was sticking on mine. I had to be careful...

    mysterious clunk in front end

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. The bolts to the eccentrics were bound up pretty tight and would not turn when weight was on the front end. When I went back through, I checked the torque on the actual nuts and they were way below the torque. I remembered that when I installed the front end...
