    SD Valve cover grommet

I recently replaced the valve covers on the 72 coupe, with exact matches from SD. The issue I am having is that I cannot locate the correct grommet or PCV valve setup that fits the the passenger side PCV port. Every D-shaped rubber grommet out there is way too small for this hole. CJ said it was...

Refurbishing my '73 after 48 years of ownership

Damn my friend, all that work is top notch. The engine looks great. I'm actually starting on my clean up, now that I have done all the work getting her running the way she should. Nicely done. Looinf forward to seeing more.

I'll give it a go. I actually have his Small Block manual which has been pretty helpful.

    1972 Mustang Coupe 302

Yeah, I kept the old one so I can take it apart and rebuild, exactly for that reason so I learn how to do it.

    1972 Mustang Coupe 302

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday thanks to Hemi, Cleveland and CJ.....Take my f'ing time...even if it means more work. I regrouped on everything with fresh eyes yesterday...and to Hemi's advice, took the time to get stuff out of the way that was in the way and got the fuel pump in with the...

    Interior shell paint

Zach, I'm actually in the same boat on mine....its on the list of next to do. Make sure to post some pics of how you end up approaching it. I've been considering the eastwood and lizard skin myself.

    1972 Mustang Coupe 302

Alright gang...new video. I took a half day today to see if I could somehow manage getting the new fuel pump in once again...to which I was utterly denied yet again. Goal was to see if I could get it in and maybe diagnose some issues without towing it to the shop tomorrow...but alas that appears...

    25 Years Ago Today....

Hmmm an Eagle Transporter model...or a new paint job for the Coupe. Decisions...decisions. Although I will say that's pretty bad ***.

    25 Years Ago Today....

Ahhh the memories. Admittedly I had an Eagle-1 Transporter. Best toy ship next to the Millenium Falcon.

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Thanks Bill. I've replaced these before on other vehicles and while it is a touch and feel process, I never had one as stubborn as this. I did put a little grease on it and did try to maneuver it in place while manually turning the camshaft. Unfortunately I can't access it from standing above...

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Sunday update: So I may be quiet on the updates for the next week as I've had to rethink my gameplan a bit. Got pretty frustrated last night and most of this morning, as I cannot get the new fuel pump back in. No matter what I attempted (including turning the engine manually to properly position...

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Nice. I may grab one just to keep in the inventory. I got the old one out yesterday...bit of a fiasco...and found a new hard line to run up to the carb, as the old one was not only stripped but, so corroded it wouldn't move. So I removed the pump and the hardline all together and will replace...

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Satruday morning update guys. Easier for me to just video stuff and show you what I am talking about. Attached is the update, as well as a photo that shows the original setup on arrival from the previous owner. Here's the link to the vid: Here's the setup as it came prior to yesterdays work.

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Thanks for the tips above guys. Appreciate that. I'll check the vaccum hoses and most likely will rebuild the carb. Sounds pretty straight forward. Here's the end of todays progress, which did not end as I had hoped. Started with an engine clean up, then changed the plugs, wires, oil filter...

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Also....just discovered I have a leak on the carburetor, which explains the obnoxious gas smells eminating from the car. Anyone know what gasket this is?

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Sorry, should have clarified. It is simply a Edelbrock electric fuel pump (from what I've discovered, a $70 quick add). Not a full EFI setup. I think he was having either fuel filter, or fuel line issues (maybe vacuum) which weren't addressed and when he talked to his mechanic about being...

Update on the 72 Coupe (Video Q&A)

Update: Much thanks to Bob for dropping me an email about this. Not sure why I didn't realize (most likely because there is nothing in my center console) that the unknown lines on the passenger side firewall are for heat and (ironically) an AC unit that at one time was on the platform that the...
