    71 f100 4wd build

That sounds pretty cool. Sandblasting is definitely messy, been there, done that. I think I will look into the lasers. Thanks for the info.

Front End Alignment Specs vs Behavior (Return to Center)

When I rebuilt my front suspension, I used shims for the uca, as I recall, the alignment shop was able to get 4 degrees of caster. Camber was set at 1 degree and 1/8” toe in. The tires are 245/60/15 radial ta’s. It did increase the steering effort but it drives straight on a flat road. I do have...

    71 f100 4wd build

Nice work. The first truck I had was a 67 short wide box 2wd. I bought a 68 mustang coupe with front end damage for 400, but I didn’t have the money to fix it. A friend offered to trade his truck straight across for the mustang so I agreed. The truck was straight, ran good, had a 352, C6. You...

    Prep prior to paint.

I agree with Mike, follow the directions to the letter. I would recommend grease and wax remover. after that, for any bare metal you can use a chemical called Metal Prep. After applying it, it will turn the bare metal a light rust color. Then you can paint.

What do you say when asked if it's a Mach 1, but it's not?

I’ve had people ask if my convertible is a Mach 1, and a few people even thought it was a Camaro. The fact is people that ask are not knowledgeable of classic Mustangs, or maybe classic cars in general, and probably weren’t alive when these cars were made, but they’re interested the cars. If the...

    1972 Mustang Coupe 302

Sounds like you have at least one cylinder not working. I would start with finding which one or ones it is by pulling one spark plug wire at a time. This will help you find any dead cylinders and verify spark. Make sure you have good spark at each spark plug. Once you find the cylinders not...

    Mustang owner for 45 years

HemiKiller should be crowned king for the most cars owned! My list of cars is much fewer, but two in particular would be my crown jewel if I still owned them, unfortunately I don’t. Still kicking myself. 1. 65 Mustang coupe, A-code 289, 4 spd 2. 68 Firebird, OHC 6, 3 spd 3. 70 Mustang sports...

    NEW GUY HERE

Grand theft auto, you stole that car. I wish I could get a deal like yours. I had TMI make my upholstery in the Mach 1 pattern using leather. It was cheaper than going to a custom shop and it looks great and feels much nicer than vinyl. It’s been 14 years since I redid the interior and still...

    71 Mach shut down

I’ve seen some bad wiring but this takes the cake. If it were me, I would rip all of that wiring out and start fresh. The guy that wired all of that should have been electrocuted. You’re lucky the car died where it did and not on the freeway or any other unsafe location.

    Mustang 429CJ engine or not

If the block number is D1VE-6015-AA it’s a thick web block and possibly a CJ block. If it’s not numbered as above, it’s a thin web block.

    Mustang 429CJ engine or not

Looking at the driver side, just above and to the left of the number 7 spark plug and at the bottom of the valve cover flange you should be able to see the head casting number. I can see it on my car, but I can’t get the camera angle to show it because the shock tower is in the way. CJ/SCJ head...
