    Ford assembly plant video 1972?

Yes, it would have been nice to see a Mustang on the assembly line. I have seen an edited down version of this video before a long time ago. On the bright side we got to see a lot of Cleveland blocks getting born, assembled and tested. The speed that the factory workers put those engines...

    Ford assembly plant video 1972?

If you skip to about half way through you get to the meat and potatoes of the assembly plant. I have to say those people worked their tails off and had skill sets most people today do not have. The guy installing the roof sound insulation with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth was classic...

Rubber Fuel Line Replacement - What’s Best?

It should have been ethanol resistant although being an EPA compliant hose does not confirm that fact. EPA compliance has more to do with it's hydrocarbon vapor permeability rating. I use fuel injection rated hose. All modern hoses marked EPDM should be ethanol resistant. I have seen the hoses...

Rubber Fuel Line Replacement - What’s Best?

Are the Gates fuel hoses that went bad marked as being EPDM?

That makes me feel a lot better. I was feeling old and now, not as much. Thanks for that. God speed.

    Best Oil

This item is only recognized by the 50 and over crowd. Dad used one of those bad boys to top up the oil (Quakerstate) in the Mustang when I was a kid. I do remember when plastic oil bottles became the go to container in the early 80s. I wish I knew where that spout went. I have a bunch of...

    Best Oil

Great dissertation sir. I am a big fan of Project farm as well and I recommend everyone watch his videos. I think he does a great job and an important service to the consumer.

    Best Oil

From what I have read Shell's Rotella oils have been cutting back if not totally removed by now most of the zinc in their oils. Due their effect on modern diesel emission systems. It is all about those dang emissions. Ron

New ignition system with MSG on my 1971 J Code, 429 SCJ

Did you mean MSD? MSG is an Asian cuisine thing.

    Best Oil

That is a bit on the lighter side of oils for a Cleveland. I would not be using 5w-30. I use Brad Penn 20w-50. It has all the additives needed to protect your cam. I use my car in warm weather and it lives in a heated garage hence the 20w-50. Ron

Spark Plugs - Too Many Choices

The plugs in our cars are much easier to change as opposed to many modern cars equipped with a long life spark plug set. And as you said we just don't do a lot of mileage on average. Fancy rare earth metal plugs are just superfluous to most folks needs. And a waste of money. Ron

Spark Plugs - Too Many Choices

My main issue with Autolite and Motorcraft plugs is that in daily driver use in the rust belt their plugs tend to corrode pretty badly. In all my years as a mechanic these are the only plug brand I ever had break off in a cylinder head (happened on a 97 5.0 and a 96 4.0) I am also not referring...

Spark Plugs - Too Many Choices

The early style speed density systems Ford used worked OK but they were much improved when they went to mass air flow. I like Napa products. Napa also stocks many older electronic parts such as your Duraspark box (that dwell extender is pretty cool). I am running an original style Pertronix...

Spark Plugs - Too Many Choices

Jesus, you seem very committed to the cause of getting **** as precise as possible. If that is actually possible. Cheers to you.

Spark Plugs - Too Many Choices

My go to spark plug for 15+ years has been NGK in all the applications that I work on including my Mustang. Autolite and Champion are not what they used to be. Ron

Edelbrock carbs: what does "Ford Kickdown: No" mean?

Don't get me wrong, I am not disparaging Edelbrock. I know there are many on the forum that run them and are pleased with their performance. The Edelbrock Afb/Avs carbs have their virtues. In my opinion I would either try to repair your 4300 as others have suggested. I know that the 4300s in all...
