    351 engine tear down

I like to add a coat of aviation form a gasket on the water pump gasket. The plate it sits on usually has its share of imperfections and porosities from use. Don't forget a couple of those bolts may be a bit longer for brackets.

    Windshield difference Coupe / Fastback

Yep, there's a difference in height. When you pick up your new windshield, unpack it and pull the tape off of the outer round foam packing. Be careful in general as these windshields are pretty flimsy. I received 3 damaged on the same corner underneath the packing. I still to this day think...

    Heater box, rebuild or replace?

I ran through mine last month. I fully disassembled it, cleaned it and reassembled it. It probably wouldn't have worked very good with the crap I found inside it. You have to have the dash moveable to remove it. I also removed the blower motor and disassembled it. I used a lil light oil to free...

Off the shelf 3rd member that drops into our cars?

ha I won't be able to hear it over the electric fuel pump.

Off the shelf 3rd member that drops into our cars?

yep that must rip with 389's this cam n converter requires some gear. I'm debating 3:70 - 3:89 for this build. (C6 w3200k) I hope I don't continue driving it like a teenager though.

Off the shelf 3rd member that drops into our cars?

Yep, I'm considering a swap out myself. The open rear does nothing in the performance department. The Detroit locker is too much and will not corner well for street use. The Track loc is a stock friction type (posi) buying used will most likely be worn out & need rebuilt. New is fine & the...

    Leaking power steering gear box

Yep, mine started making a mess & I pulled it out and replaced that seal. Pull the snap ring, then pull up the plastic cover. Drill a hole in the seal insert a screw & use needle nose w/ a lil leverage to pull it. I used a large socket to install the new one. My seal was worn, however, my shaft...

A lil head gasket R&R. 351C-4V closed wedge chamber, boss/high-output head (adjustable rockers with screw-in studs)

Note: factory pushrod guide plates. yep, changed out the head gaskets, reset the gaps, reset the rockers tighter on the exhaust. Went cruising all day yesterday on it, this is one time my neighbors were happy to see me cruising one of my old piston engines.

Several months later, I'm going back through the electrical problems on my stang. I noticed the Turn signal switch in the column, is the one w/ the different connection from 71-73.

71 302 auto coupe dual exhaust kit

Being that you are using common muffler shop bends, you may want to go up to the 2.25 or 2.5 diameter. That concoction of multiple muffler shop bends will reduce your overall exhaust flow 30-40%. while mandrel bends reduce nothing. Very few muffler shops have mandrel machines, and the pipes...

New front end finishing touches added 3/8" spacers & eliminated saddle squeaks.

Ha I'm 59 going on 30. You are as young as you feel. My recommendation is never quit moving add a lil gas pedal exhilaration.

New front end finishing touches added 3/8" spacers & eliminated saddle squeaks.

Ha that's just common sense on what to do with a original configuration, if your wheels you chose were too big in the outward direction. If I was to keep the car I'd prob. pull all of it out & go coil over and ditch the stamped steel n go tubular. The rear wouldn't be leaf. It just doesn't add...

New front end finishing touches added 3/8" spacers & eliminated saddle squeaks.

I finally nailed the suspension. I used some old shackles, found my stock spacing, grabbed that 1 1/2" hole above it and chopped the rest off. The front end doubles the effect while the rearend gives you 50% of what you space it with. 1 1/2" is 3/4" in ht. It took muliple attempts to get this...

They seem to effect the stiffness on a few of the other front-end parts like the sway bars more than the tops of the springs. I needed that 3/8" which in turn is 3/4" by front end ht/inc comparisons. I drove the hell out of it today and I'm impressed with the cornering on this.

Try the rubber *** instead... lmao. either drill the hole larger or cut the thing off and grab some super weatherstripping adhesive & glue it on. Use needle nose vicegrips to hold it 20 min. I was only adding 4 letter words on the inside one next to where the spring rests.

OK, now I am stumped, no crank

Ye that was only one of my problems, the ignition switch mounted 1/2 up the column was so loose it was worthless. Then the brand new after mkt relay I bought had contacts that were stuck "on" and I had to disconnect the battery b4 the starter was toasted. Lots of fun with this one lmao.

That's what I was hoping. I've driven it a cpl. o'x's pretty hard. I'm going to find my old shackles drill holes in them for 1" and cut off the rest. The rearend barely has to go up and the 1st position of these shackles is more than an inch. I had my heart set on a slight dish on these wheels...

OK, now I am stumped, no crank

I just stumbled on this. I had the same reoccurring problem. My neutral safety switch was the culprit every time. I thought is was fixed wiggled it & adjusted it and it worked for up to a month before the same problem came back. I ended up taking the neutral safety switch apart and found the...

Side 2. If you cheat and fasten the lil rubber ***'s with wire, the freak'n rubber pads wont keep coming off when you are trying to put your spring in. Those lil pads were very annoying. I took it out and drove it, there's no more squeaks. The front end is just right, however, .... now the back...
