    Local 3.5 gears

Shooting up there saturday morning to grab them. Easy 45 minutes away, worth the drive.

    Local 3.5 gears

Oh I wasnt planning on it, I have had terrible experiences with them. More so I was just making sure that I was on the right track with the parts that I needed to grab, and those were the first ones that popped up.

    Local 3.5 gears

These are a few more pictures. Granted I’m not super knowledgeable but they don’t really look used at all. 1k miles and swapped out.

    US Indy Mags

Holy price difference. Thats what I get for not checking rock auto first. Seeing as I don't need them asap definitely the way to go. Thank you as always. Grabbed a lug installer too while I was at it.

    US Indy Mags

Posted this thread a while back but looking for a little more info. One of the old lug nuts I had was pretty well seized on the rear studs. Took a few minutes with an impact to get it off. Long story short, I am going to replace the stud, maybe all 5 since I am right there. I did a ton of...

    Local 3.5 gears

The ole one tire fires! I guess the main thing I need to figure out is if I want and do all that at once, or stick with the 2.75 post motor/tranny rebuild until I have the funds to do so. Probably makes more sense to stay with the 2.75 until I can just get the TractionLok 3.5. That way I'm not...

    Local 3.5 gears

Yeah the used ones I originally asked about were in a 67 mustang. Drove it a little while and decided to go with a different ratio for his driving habits. He said the heat cycles and break in were done at Chucks Speed Center in Phoenix. Just didn't know if it was a good idea to go with slightly...

    Awesome I'll check them out!

    Local 3.5 gears

Thats kind of what I was thinking as well, but this is a new area to me so wanted to ask the ones with experience. It would save me about $250 compared to a new set, but in the long run is that worth it not having the peace of mind that I am starting new.

    Local 3.5 gears

Found these for sale locally. Apparently taken Out to change the ratios, no more than 1k miles on them. Up for $100. I was going to do 3.5 gears with my rebuild, worth taking a flyer on these?

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

That was the answer I was hoping for. Don’t see any damaged fins or stains that it had been leaking at one point. Fantastic, thank you much!

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Another question for you all. Should I pre-emptively get a new radiator to go with the rebuild? Its not leaking sitting there parked, and even though I was only able to limp it down the street when it was "running", there were no leak issues there either. Granted it wasn't running very long, but...

    Refreshing the Grill

Will do! The next thing on my to do list was to find an actual diagram of which screws need to come out. It was easy to do on my 78 f-150, the screws were right there in the grill insert.

    Refreshing the Grill

I'm familiar with that place! I have been meaning to get one of those cone buffers, might be the push to go do it. Hit it with some simple green and a low setting power washer. It doesn't seem at all brittle, but I will definitely take my time.

    Refreshing the Grill

Probably a simple solution but wanted to ask. My grill is on good shape, besides being greasy on the driver side. I’m going to take it off and give it a good cleaning, much easier than doing it on the car. The plastic has obviously faded and would like to make it look a little better. Anyone...

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Definitely a good thing. And I’ll for sure take the Comp parts into consideration! This is a whole new area for me so I appreciate everyone who has chimed in. Unbelievably helpful

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Yep it has been rebuilt before, or so I was told. 🤞🏼I’m thinking that’s why my shop didn’t quote replacing the valves yet, because it’s possible they may not be needed, just machined. And he would obviously figure that part out once he got it apart. I am inclined to believe it had been rebuilt...

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Alright got an update on my questions regarding replacing the valves. He said the exhaust valves may be a problem, but has never seen an intake valve go bad. Exhaust valves will run me $80 for the set, but new intake valves aren't available. If there are already hardened seats in the head they...

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Always coming in with the knowledge!! So I was looking at the Hooker 6921. They won't break the bank, are still quality, and I can do the prep work on them myself. Although not sure how I can cure the paint in my oven because I doubt they will fit. Assuming its something that will be done after...
