Greg, Thanks for reply and the detailed information you provided, good stuff ::thumb::  I will keep the idea of covering the panel with vinyl in mind if I can't get them looking good. Jim

    Interior Quarter Panel -Sun Damage

Thanks for the info, I will look into this. I have been soaking it with 303. It brings the color back for a little while then fades again. Maybe once the chalky layer is removed and then apply the 303 it will hold the color better.

    Interior Quarter Panel -Sun Damage

Thanks for replies. I will search the forums again and check out the link. I was hoping to find a way to spot treat the areas rather then repainting the whole panel but blending it in would be a problem for sure.

    Interior Quarter Panel -Sun Damage

Hello all, The interior rear panels on our convert has patches of what I believe to be sun damage on them. The areas are lighter in color and kind of chalky on the surface. If you rub it, it starts to crumbly. Anybody else run into this? Is there any way to repair the areas without having to...

    Preparing for Paint

The post from MikeGriese is spot on and totally agree that detailed bag & tag is critical when doing disassembly. The only thing I would add that I found out (the hard way of course) is that writing the info on the zip lock bags -even with a Sharpie is not alway permanent as the name...

    Window felt

Yes, is a disappointment to have to work with some of the aftermarket parts. I ended up using the narrower repro parts, but not happy with it ..... Good luck with yours!

Props to Forel Pubishing (AKA Fordmanuals.com)

I have the Forel CD too. The excessive copywrite protection makes it very diffeicult to use so good to hear that they are offering a work around if you upgrade your hardware. Is the fix they are providing specific for each individual or is it a general fix? Can you share what they have you do...

    Fabulous Fords For Ever Show

That event is usually at Knotts Berry farm (parking lot). I read on the website that they lost access to this site and that the FFF event has been temp postponded until they can locate a new venue to hold it at. Was a great show  for a long time, made the trip down to SoCal to attend.

    Her 72 Mach 1

Unless the pictures isn't showing the damaged Q panel very well it doesn't look that bad...When I had ours in the shop the passenger side Q panel had been hit years ago and had a questionable repair job done and then was hit again. I think mine looked worse then what you have. When I discussed...

    Mustang Monthly

I got MM for years also. After they let Don Farr go I could tell the writing was on the wall. There wasn't much coverage for 71-73 but still enjoyed getting the hard copy and reading the "old fashion way".  Reading on a tablet or PC just isn't the same...Let my sub. expire a few years ago when...

I need a word that rhymes with ORANGE

Remember, you asked....My wife couldn't let this go, she kept looking until she found this- Per the urban dictionary: The only word in the 20-volume historical Oxford English Dictionary that rhymes with orange is sporange, a very rare alternative form of sporangium (a botanical term for a part...
