What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

If you haven't tried it, take 46 to 16, then follow 16 through Bandera to Medina, stop at one of the restaurants in Medina for coffee and apple pie, the continue on 16 to Kerrville. Nice drive. Plenty of "loops" can be made in the Hill Country. If you're into motorcycles, the Lone Star...

Power Steering on1969 Shelby leaks from filler tube

Were there any plugs in the inlet and outlet of the replacement pump? Some sort of obstruction would cause your pump to do this. Even an air restriction in the system, perhaps.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Check out Lizardskin coatings. They apply easily and don't have the rough finish of bed liner and traditional undercoating.

I've been lowering my Mustangs for decades and never had issues getting the alignment in spec. If you go more than an inch on the front you may run into bump steer issues.

There are a couple ways to do the 1" drop. The best way, since you're leaf springs are bad, would be to contact Eaton Springs and tell them what you want. They can make front coils and rear leafs to your specs. Alternatively, you can use lowering blocks on the rear and cut your coil springs to...

What is the best rear axle ratio for our cars?

I would stay in the 3.00 to 3.70 range depending on your intended use of the car. 3.25 gears are good for all-around cruiser/touring with a 4-speed. I run 3.89 gears with a 5-speed and would probably switch to 3.70 if I change them in the future. I Just my 0.02¢

The 4V refers to a 4-barrel carb. There are some top end differences between the 2-barrel and 4-barrel versions of the 351C. @Hemikiller explained the sticker on your valve cover. Without seeing more of the engine it's difficult to say if you have a 351C or M. The valve covers are...

Yes, the staggered shocks were part of the competition suspension. I suspect your car is a Q-code (351C 4V) also. I think @turtle5353 did the 8.8 retrofit into his Mach 1. Maybe he'll chime in and share his experience.

Monte Carlo bar for 71 Mach 351C

Quality spherical rod ends do allow movement under certain applications. When used as a rod end on a straight rod connected to non-moving mounting locations, they are limited to one degree of freedom with movement limited to rotation of the rod. These joints are very solid. In application as...

Being an AZ car, I would think you could get away with flushing the lines. My 72 has lived its life in AZ and TX and I'm still running the original lines. You'll know when you flush them if there are any issues as you'll get some debris out.

    Missing bolt?

Earlier intake manifold castings had this bolt hole also. In 1970, the Mustangs equipped with ram air used this bolt hole for the Shaker air cleaner support bracket.

    Fuel Filter Replacement

Looks like a job well done! And don't worry about that bolt hole; it's not used on our cars. I think it may be left over from earlier (1970) production 351C engines that used the shaker ram air system.
