    center gauges pic's

Yes, there is a smaller separate bezel for the radio and heater control that fits into the larger opening below where the three gauges mount.

    Rear leaf spring inquiry

I went with the Eaton Detroit stock front and rear springs for the Rickster. A while back I measured the height of the body relative to the hub on both front and back, and both are within about 1/8" of factory specs. The spring rate they recommend for stock replacement is a perfect ride, for...

Rear window frame is gone. How to replace/fix?

Mine was not that bad, and replacing the quarter panels and roof solved a lot of my problems around the rear window on the Rickster. I've watched a lot of videos on YouTube by Fitzee's Fabrication and he does cover the rear window repairs, as well as most others. You can check out his rear...

    351 Cleveland Build

Like rcadd1ct, I went with Trickflow heads, too. 62cc chamber and 195 cc runners. They were a little more than the budget alternative, but I am very happy with them. I didn't need the monster high volume runners, as I wasn't building a high rpm motor, but I did want it to be fun to drive...

New Member, long time 71-73 owner.

Greetings, fellow earthling! Welcome from the Tri-Cities in NE Tennessee. That's a nice collection you've got there. I really like the green on your 67, but I'm probably biased.

Deluxe Dash Bezel on a Standard Dash?

Yes. And as Hemikiller said, making a template to drill the panel in the correct places is the way to go. The speed nuts have a pretty decent flange so if the holes are off center or need to be enlarged a little bit, it's not a problem.

    center gauges pic's

I purchased the center dash panel from Don at Ohio Mustang (yes, it was pricey), and then used a dremel to slightly modify the gauge openings to allow the VDO gauges to fit. Once they were secure, I made a wiring harness to allow the gauge cluster to plug into the aftermarket wiring harness...

My story and I’m sticking to it

You're never to old. I spent 3 yrs or so restoring my 73 Mach 1. Got a 1 year sidetrack with a bad paint job, and also a delay because of EFI problems, but they have been solved and it runs well. Please post up more pictures and more of the backstory for your car. I'd suggest starting a...

    71 Mach 1 - Novice Restoration

The brackets are edge welded with two 3/4" welds along each side and one 3/4" weld on the end. Two 1 inch long edge welds are put on each side where it meets the tail light panel. I've attached a few photos of exactly what Ford called out from the 71-72 Mustang Weld and Sealant Assembly...

    Another one bites the dust

Sorry to see that 72 Sprint is gone. It looks to be in much better shape than the Rickster was in when I got it. I know they can't all be saved, but still it makes me sad to see them end up in the scrap yard.

All 3 ponies in one post!

Nice stable of ponies, even unrestored. I really like the blue on that 73 Q code. You say that two are stored at your dad's in Tennessee? What part? I'm up in the Tri-Cities area.

Do I save it? 71 vert 351-4v ramair

I would save it. It was a nicely optioned car when new, and would definitely be a head turner if restored to it's former glory. Takes a bunch of time and money, but if you can, I would vote to save it. Like Mister 4x4, I saved the Rickster, even when friends suggested it would be better to...

    Up grading to a AODE/4R70W

I made extensive use of mrgmhale's videos and parts lists when rebuilding the Rickster and retrofitting an AOD behind the 351 Cleveland. I found them very useful.

    English wheel one curve only

I agree with hemikiller, that a slip roller would give you that curve, and probably would be the easiest way to do it. With the english wheel, putting a rubber band on the upper wheel will allow you to add shape to the metal in one direction. When you remove the rubber band, you will add shape...

    urethane front bumper

Hey Woodstang, The Rickster is a 73 Mach 1, but it had a wicked tear in the front bumper, and although it's a bit different from your 72 bumper, some of the techniques I used to repair it may work for you. The bumper repair is on page 9 of the build thread. Yes, I also referred to the...

What did you do to your car today?

That's looking great, Rio. I like that tip over jig. Simple, but effective. Keep up the good work.
