Parts For Sale Comp roller rockers and cam

I'm up in the Tri-Cities area, about 4 hrs from you. Been through Mt Juliet many times before and during our move from the Memphis area to Jonesborough. We don't get over to Nashville much anymore. Anymore, I really prefer to use hydraulic roller cam and lifters, but they are more expensive...

Parts For Sale Comp roller rockers and cam

Hey guys, don't forget, you should never reuse the lifters. If it's going back in the same engine in the same location, maybe it will work, but it's far better to use new lifters with a used camshaft. Nobody wants to wipe a cam and have to do a complete rebuild, just because you wanted to save...

    1973 Grande Build

Those plugs look like what I pulled when the Rickster was running really rich. In my case, it was a very small leak in the exhaust about 6 inches behind the O2 sensor. I had to run smoke up the tailpipe to finally find it. What a PITA. In your case, it may not be a leak, but a bad O2 sensor...

    Hi everyone!

Welcome from the Tri-Cities in NE Tennessee. You say you'd like a 71-73 Mustang that would look like the original Eleanor. Is that before or after the car chase? ;-)

Long Time coming 1973 Mach1 restomod

You're doing a good job. Looking at your pictures is giving me flashbacks to my journey with the Rickster. Keep up the good work, and keep the progress notes and pictures coming. If you run into problems or have questions, a number of us have been down this road and will be glad to help...

    1973 Grande Build

I would wonder about the O2 sensor or an exhaust leak at, or near, the bung that is screws into. Do you have an oxygen sensor on both sides, or just one? When you say it runs rich, have you checked plugs, and checked from both sides? Since it's multiport fuel injection, could it be a problem...

    Rear ended, hit and run!!!

Man, that sucks. I'm glad you're okay, though. The car can be fixed, and hopefully, the ********* that hit you will be caught and made an example of. Good luck with the repairs.

    The Rickster's first car show

Took the Rickster to a local car show today. The weather was beautiful - perfect for a car show. It wasn't a large show, but it's the first car show I've ever entered a car in. There were about 60 cars there, and the Rickster won first prize in the 70's class, beating out all of the camaros...

You're doing a great job. I can appreciate how much time, money, and effort you've put into this project and it is definitely paying off. I can't wait to see pictures of it finished. Keep up the good work.

Trying to explain away the stupid in a decision?

Nice!!! If it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures and if it isn't eaten up with rust underneath, for half the price of the Jeep, I'd already be on my way to pick it up.

Replacement windshield and rear view mirror button

Heat will remove the button, but that black spot is a permanent part of the windshield. It's ceramic and nothing short of a grinder will remove it. Gilbert Hale told me about a company called ECS that does custom windshield marking. I looked them up...

Hello from PA! Restoring a 73 Mach 1

Welcome from NE Tennessee. That 73 looks good, as does that 65 vert. It does look like you've made a lot of progress already that 73. Been there, done that. Keep the pictures coming. :)

Where do these rubber bumpers go?

I can't tell for sure, but as I recall, the rear bump stops were a squeeze in fit. Could the larger one be a bump stop? How hard is the rubber? The bump stop is pretty firm. I think the front ones were had a stud, but the rears were squeeze in and were a PITA to seat. I agree with others...

    Glamor shots of the Rickster

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I had a picture of a dark green 73 Mach 1 I found on the internet printed out and placed on the wall near where I was working and I had a picture of Rick right above it to keep me motivated. Most mornings, I was chomping at the bit to get out to the barn to...

    71 Mach 1 - Novice Restoration

That appears to be where those braces go. They had some pretty beefy spot welds to hold the inner fender to the cowl. The fact that they have been cut loose and just screwed in makes me wonder why. Have you checked the cowl to make sure it will not need repair? It would be a shame to weld...
