Parts For Sale Left Hood Hinge Assy, New In Box

This is a Scott Drake PN D1ZZ-16797-AR. I'm asking $50 and will ship for actual shipping cost. I somehow ended up with 2 LH hinges...if you have a RH, I may be interested in a trade. PM me here if interested.

What did you do to your car today?

I intend to do something like this, as well. I'd like to find a way to incorporate a decent sized screen for a backup camera. I don't think my eyes are good enough for a smaller screen. One option might be a rear view mirror cam...but I'd rather just leave the RVM off of the windshield. I...

What did you do to your car today?

Are you running a HV pump? What about oil? What viscosity were you running on the dyno? I had a whole response written but decided it might generate controversy, but suffice it to say that I believe the 2v vs 4v overhead oil retention will be very similar, all else being equal.

What the &$@* are these things called?

Give AMK a shot. there are a number of different sizes that have the same basic shape, so pay attention to details AMK will have them correctly identified by application. https://www.amkproducts.com/master-kits/ford-master-fastener-kits/

First one gone at Mecum today.

As I look closer, I'm seeing that the rear honeycomb trim is banged up...wonder if the taillight panel is the same. The trim just ahead of Rt front wheel is really banged up. Maybe it's a 20 footer....but still, if the body isn't a rust bucket, would seem worth the sale price.

    Timing issues

On holleys, the ported/timed vacuum port is typically a port on the right side of primary metering block. The baseplate ports are typically manifold vacuum. Your plan of verifying with a gauge is your best bet to verify you're connecting to the desired type of vacuum.

First one gone at Mecum today.

For $17,600, I might have given that for it! Seems really low...wondering if there's something drastically wrong with it.

Parts Wanted Left side windshield reveal and Left side drip moldings

Interesting...my 72 also has deep scrapes on the left windshield and drip rail. When I bought the car, the wiper, on that side, went beyond the windshield and scraped those two.

    351C 2V Heads Help

If you're running a 2.5 PV, that will have to be replaced and WILL cause a stumble on throttle stab. The original PV for that carb is 6.5. With a cam like yours, I'd run an 8.5. What that means is that the Main Circuit will be enriched via the PVCR's (power valve channel restrictors) when...

    351 Cleveland Build

Aluminum heads will use either a Spring Cup or Locater, depending on the space available. They are typically hardened steel. If the question was regarding what's in the screen capture, below, that's a valve spring shim used to set the desired valve spring installed height. When valve and seat...

    351 Cleveland Build

Not to hijack the thread, but I grew up over the hill from where you're at and lived in LC a few years. My air gap setup runs cold, here in Phx, it would be worse where you are.

Interesting video about Cleveland heads oil drain back

The picture is the original pan from my 72 H code with 5 quarts of water (simulating the 6 quart total capacity used in a Boss pan). The lower pic is a Boss/Q code pan. I wonder if one of our pans is the result of Ford's "keep the line moving" philosophy and a substitute was made.

    351 Cleveland Build

As I understand it, you're running 2v heads. The intake you bought is intended for 2v heads, so just use the gasket they recommend......bottom line is it needs to be a 2v gasket. The pan style gaskets are fine, but you'll need to make sure the bottom of intake and pan do not interfere...

    First Start Attempt

Are you using the factory lead that goes to the coil positive to power your ballast resistor? Just asking because the OEM circuit uses resistor wire to power the coil and will have a reduced voltage with the key in the Run position. It should get the full battery voltage when in the...

Interesting video about Cleveland heads oil drain back

The lower drainback holes go through the block. By the time the upper areas (push rod holes, etc) come into play, the valve covers will be holding a lot of oil....doesn't matter which heads.

    TRW Piston Specs

These look like Speed Pro numbers? Can you confirm they are identical to what TRW had for Forged 2379's ?

    TRW Piston Specs

Do any of you have or know where I can download old TRW specs? Looking for catalog data for L-2379F pistons that were commonly used in 351c. Conversely, if any of you know for certain that the Speed Pro numbers have remained unchanged in comparison to the old TRW numbers.

Engine machine shop or more specifically, head work

That's a very easy fix. Whoever installed the guides didn't cut them down to 1/2" to clean up the "eggshell" left behind. That was a normal part of an install where I worked. The guide shows knurling...I don't recall for certain, but it seems like some guides came with a short knurled section...
