Can I use an NOS 71 Expansion valve with R134a or do I need to replace with a new one?

Good question. It would have been so easy to just put some R12 in it but I just figured it was too expensive and hard to get. It's not too late to go R12. I can install the NOS expansion valve and the new dryer. Suggestions?

Can I use an NOS 71 Expansion valve with R134a or do I need to replace with a new one?

I plan to blow some compressed air through the lines, the evaporator, and the condenser. Everything looks good though from what I can tell. Should I suck the oil out of the compressor and replace it with PAG oil if I am going with R134a?

Can I use an NOS 71 Expansion valve with R134a or do I need to replace with a new one?

About to charge the A/C on a low mile 73 I bought. I've pulled the factory expansion valve and the dryer and want to replace with new before I recharge with R134a. I have an NOS expansion valve I could use but will it work with R134a? Thanks! Kevin.

Replacing externally regulated alternator with one-wire internally regulated alternator

So this car had a bunch of electrical problems and I managed to fix them all (I think). The alternator on the car looked almost new but I took it to Autozone and they checked it and told me it was fried. I installed the chrome one wire alternator shown above and it works great! I found that the...

Replacing externally regulated alternator with one-wire internally regulated alternator

I found this video on youtube. . This one wire alternator is a little different than the ones I see today. Turns out the orange wire is for the alternator light. It's actually only a 60 amp alternator. Sure is pretty though! I still don't know about whether a radio noise suppressor is...

Replacing externally regulated alternator with one-wire internally regulated alternator

Oh. That sucks, lol. I found this brand new one wire alternator in my basement (been there for years and never knew I had it!). I've never installed one. Is that little wire what I'm supposed to hook up?

Replacing externally regulated alternator with one-wire internally regulated alternator

Randy, what might be the advantages/disadvantages of the 100 amp one wire alternator? I'm hoping to eliminate possible electrical problems that might be caused by the external voltage regulator and hoping the extra juice may brighten the dash lights. The car I'm working on has some bad popping...

Replacing externally regulated alternator with one-wire internally regulated alternator

Hey Randy. I posted a problem I'm having with my charging system and thinking about converting to this: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Tuff-Stuff-7068-1-Wire-Smooth-Back-Ford-Alternator-100-Amp,278148.html. I have a 72 with tach and gauges and the junction block on the battery apron. Are you...

Replacing externally regulated alternator with one-wire internally regulated alternator

I'm thinking about converting to this: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Tuff-Stuff-7068-1-Wire-Smooth-Back-Ford-Alternator-100-Amp,278148.html. I've also got the junction post you spoke about. How did you end up hooking the one wire from new alternator?
