Spectra Premium F32A fuel tank/fuel vapor separator fitment

I haven’t decided yet but my first choice is the SS scrubber based on forum member comments. The problem I’m stuck on is trying to find a smaller diameter one. The tank vent housing is a 1.5 inch diameter and the scrubber pads I’ve seen are much bigger, like 2.5 to 3” diameter. I’m thinking...

Absolutely! I was facing the same dilemma and was dreading a full trunk pan replacement. Searching the past posts I found one by Mad Irishman looking for metal to fix his trunk. So I asked him what he eventually decided to do and he posted the below awesome response with great pictures of...

Spectra Premium F32A fuel tank/fuel vapor separator fitment

No worries...I just got my Spectra Premium tank a week ago, and had the same concern. It does fit just fine. You just have to align two of the tabs to the slots and the third slot does not come into play. You'll need to wiggle it a little to get it under the hold down clamp but not difficult...

    Strut rod stripped thread thread.

Plus one for what Don said...For what it's worth, I had a similar experience a couple of years ago. I redid my front end steering and suspension like a lot of members. The strut rod threads looked pretty good but not great like yours. So I just cleaned it up, chased the threads, painted them...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Took advantage of testing the new Classic Auto Air controls, dampers, fan and hot water valve with the dash out. I set up the heater box on a bench, used the battery for power and wired it up to my dash controls. The instructions suggested doing a test before installing and it was a good...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Dash Panel is finally done, restored & ready to reinstall once the rest of the interior is ready to receive it. Did all of this work in the basement which worked out much better than the garage. So big picture, on the Center Dash section major changes. Rocketman (Bob) calibrated my gauges &...

    Trunk floor part needed

I’m interested in how you attacked or plan to attack your project. I removed my gas tank today and found rust under the lower nozzle seal too. It’s not as bad as yours but it’s gotta be fixed I also found a bunch of sealer and bondo around a rubber grommet on the floor that was covering a...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Glove Box end of Dash Panel completed First reinstalled the wiring harness. Midlife/Randy did a super job going over this and correcting a couple of splices, testing/cleaning it and especially fixing my "broken Fuse Block". That has bugged me since the day I got this car 20+ years ago. One...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Thanks Steve...you've been so helpful with your comments/posts & following your "73 H Code Convertible Project" thread. I appreciate your comments & experience greatly. That's really encouraging how your dash pad is holding up after it's first year.

    73 H Code Convertible Project

Steve...on your Dash Pad, did you top coat the avocado dye with the satin clear coat dye or just leave it with the base coats of dye? Also, the metal Dash Cover...did you end up painting that by chance? If so what did you use? I'm very interested in how you approached this to achieve your...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

Thanks. You have helped inspire me to reach higher on this project than I initially expected by following your Wimbledon White masterpiece. This won’t come close to your restoration. But I want it to look fresh, every thing working (for the first time) and a few upgrades that don’t take away...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

With the Dash back, then started the reassembly... First was building a rolling stand that others have shown on this forum, and it worked great! I cleaned up the four switches both with electric contact cleaner & the chrome pitting, and mounted them first. The steel wool restored most of it...

Bob's 73 Convertible Avocado Interior Project

I am terrible about keeping up on this thread. Late June, I finally got the Dash Panel, Console and related components back from my local body shop where I worked with them to paint it. I've never learned how to paint, and didn't want to have a rattle can job. I'm happy with how it turned...

    Blue steering wheel question

Steve73QMach1 above has a thread "73 H Code Convertible Project" that inspired me to keep my avocado versus convert to black as you're considering your options. His experience with this spray dye product prompted me to give it a try. I'd never heard of it before reading his post. So if you do...

LED Upgrade - Fitment Problem on 1973 Front Parking Light

Thanks. Good to know that I'm not the only one that ran into this. Yeah, your experience is exactly the same as mine. Instead of going the route you did though, I ended up using a 3/4" grinding cone and opened up the socket slightly to make the "typical" LED bulb that has the bigger base fit...
