LED Upgrade - Fitment Problem on 1973 Front Parking Light

Yes I did correspond with Bill. He was very interested in what I ran into and said that I was his first 1973 Mustang customer that he's aware of having this problem. This is not at all a problem with the 71 or 72 mustangs because they use a different socket. Perhaps some of the earlier...

Instrument Cluster Screw Hole Repair - Can it be done?

This stuff looks incredible! Thanks for sharing this idea. Never heard of it, but now I have to get some and try it. Not sure I want to go with this hard of a substance for my plastic Instrument Cluster though. When looking it up to learn about it, I found this video of a guy that used it...

Instrument Cluster Screw Hole Repair - Can it be done?

Thank you so much for all your help and advise! I never thought about the ABS plumbing cement and will try that and see how it goes. Seems less intrusive and like mentioned perhaps a little softer for the screws to cut into. I'll play with it thanks to you all's input and I feel much more...

LED Upgrade - Fitment Problem on 1973 Front Parking Light

I wanted to share a recent unexpected experience I had when upgrading my 1973 Mustang convertible to all LEDs. I purchased a full conversion set both interior and exterior bulbs from HiPo Parts Garage based on the great reputation they have on our forum. Unfortunately, one LED bulb did not...

Instrument Cluster Screw Hole Repair - Can it be done?

I'm continuing my project of refurbishing my interior (and a bunch more) and ran into an unexpected problem on my project. When taking the Instrument Cluster apart, I found two places where the Speedometer and the Fuel Gauge attach to the cluster where the screws were barely hanging on. When I...

    Question on painting dash bezel?

Here's a Ford Paint Codes chart that I copied from a post from Hemikiller that has all the "interior" color codes and which components they are used on. It's been really helpful for me on my interior work. There is no "dark green" interior color so not sure if this helps for your question. Bob

    Question on painting dash bezel?

Great help, thank you guys! Fantastic. I hadn't even thought about the cleaning off the fresh paint and it turning out well. I'll do as Ribbs & Hemikiller says to tape off the perimeter chrome to minimize the amount of cleaning off. The chrome on this piece is the best of any other dash...

    Question on painting dash bezel?

I had the Body Shop figure out the color for me on this Avocado. Hemikiller had posted in another earlier thread the SEM Paint color mix specification for the Avocado shade. I took it along with 9 of my dash/console components to my local Body Shop I've used over the years and trust. They...

    Question on painting dash bezel?

Thanks Don, your center section bezel turned out great in your pictures. I used the molotow on my glove box area bezel chrome and it’s just okay. No doubt my skills need to improve. Because of how that went that’s what lead me to see how others tried this. My molotow pen might be too wide...

    Question on painting dash bezel?

I’ve been refurbishing my dash and console and have come to the Radio/Heater control bezel and trying to figure out how to attack this one. The inner chrome detail and radio lettering is much more complicated to tape off than all the other bezels. Just thought I’d ask if anyone has had...

    71Convert Restoration Project Progress

You are my inspiration!! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. This chrome refurbishment is really helpful information. I’m about to copy your path on my car. I was planning to coat my parking light bezel with the molotow pen but now think I’ll buy an airbrush and learn how to use...

Can I start the engine briefly without the alternator?

Don makes a good point. From your picture does your yellow wire mounted on your terminal block have battery voltage to it? If not try moving it to your battery post of your starter relay.

    Primary Ground for Dash Harness?

Here’s pictures of what Midlife describes. If you’d like more pics let me know because my dash is out and I’m refurbishing it. I can easily snap more of what you might want. Bob

    Upper control arm

I’ve been using these MOOG upper control arms for three years now and they work great. Huge improvement over my worn out ones. I don’t know what you mean about them being different from your stock uppers? They are pretty much identical. But to answer your question, absolutely no trouble with...

    Mustang Mach 1 1973 351C V2 H-Code

Wow that looks fantastic! I’m in the middle of cleaning my engine front end up to put in a new classic auto air system and also figured a good time to refinish the grill, headlight buckets, etc. Your pictures and progress gives me some much needed inspiration! I love everything you’ve...

Not something you see everyday - Mustang Raffle

I was driving through a small town an hour from where I live this weekend and saw this billboard that caught my eye. I went back to take this picture so I could share it with you all. It's apparently a Lutheran Church that has had a classic car raffle the past two years, and is doing it again...

    A Pretty Dumb Question...

Good question. I’ve had my mustang listed as: Black Power Top w/Glass Backlight for 20+ years now and I’ve never unzipped it yet. I’ve been more concerned about ripping the stitching and hadn’t really thought about breaking the glass. Interested to seeing what others are doing. Bob

    Circuit Identification

Here's a little more help The First picture is of your connector C-1201. The Red/Yellow Hash wires are ckt# 640. The Brown/Orange Hash wire is ckt# 369. Both wires connect to your harness that connects to the EGR Control Module (the red box on the right side of this picture). Your connector...
