    Taillight fix

To be clear - I wasn't suggesting it was stock-looking, just that it works. 2 splices and your done. I actually used a much cheaper version with black wiring, but can't remember where I got it. NPD maybe?

    Taillight fix

Just asking a clarifying question - do you mean there are no accurate reproductions? I recently replaced a corroded factory socket with the one below, and it works well (fits very snug and tight) with the original, unmodified housing...

Kentucky Mustang is a great company to deal with.

Agreed - I've used them several times, and always good process and good service. I was turned onto them by a local Mustang expert soon after I bought my car.

    convertible interior recommendation needed

I'm not a fan of repainting/dyeing interior parts. I've done it, and my perspective is that it can work well with parts that don't get touched or worn much. Even with really good prep, I think its very hard to get a long-lasting color saturation on parts like seats or other "high-touch"...

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

I think the consensus was a sloppily executed rebody. I'm no expert, but the script "Mustang" on a Mach 1 and 8" rear end on a 429 car should jump out to most folks, and that is just on the surface. I'm no stickler for factory correct, but this car is not what it has been represented as. The...

    New Member Forum

I have the slidebar radio you are describing - it's a moderate-cost option for an upgrade. Not super sound quality but plenty good if you aren't an audiophile. The bluetooth works fine for any current phone, and you can take or make calls. There is a microphone with a reasonably long lead so you...

    Jeep to a 72

There might not be a formal Mustang wave like the Jeep, Harley or Vette guys, but I sure get a lot of them from the kids driving their S550s around town here. It's gonna be a thing sooner or later.

351C IDLE SPEED PROBLEM, FMX CLUNK?

I realize that there is a lot left to figure out here - but my guess is the torque converter is too tight for the engine combination.

Living with Vette instead of Stang

Wow, a lot of negativity towards the other American automotive icon. I'm motivated to try to balance that out a little... I've owned both, and for a while, did so simultaneously. Only reason I sold my C3 corvette was to help offset legal fees I knew I would incur as I fought for custody of my...

Engine sputters and chokes at part throttle

Normally I would agree, but not with a 351C. Keep in mind I really like the trick flows (running a pair now), but if you sink a grand into your factory heads, you still can't buy one aluminum head for the same price. On almost $3K for a complete rebuilt long block - that's really not bad if the...

    Received My New Wheels

I'm running 275/50s in the back, but also have 9" wheels with an extra 1/2 inch backspace over yours. Also have stiffer-than-stock rear springs. Watch where the backspace puts you and make sure the tire won't rub your sheet metal. I would think 295s would require a wider rim, but that's just...

    New with a 72 Fastback !

Keep it! These cars are gaining in value, but nothing compares to driving one of these classics. Admittedly, I'm partials to black fastbacks.

351 C Looking for finned aluminum valve covers

Every once in a while you find a deal on these old Cal Custom covers for a 351C - I scored a set at a swap meet and painted them blue and silver. They do work with roller rockers but you have to grind the internal drippers off.

    NPD Greed

It's all good, in my opinion - you have an opinion and stated it - whether I or anyone else agrees/disagrees, there is no reason to be reluctant to state said opinion. We should encourage, not discourage that freedom.

    Fuel pump swap out

I would go in from below and take the oil filter off - I find that makes the job easier.

    NPD Greed

Not that it matters, but here's my .02 cents.... For shipping costs, NPD is no worse than any other supplier. Shipping is expensive, and any vendor they use if going to have positives and negatives in their cost structure, just as detritus maximus says. NPD is, however, one the best overall for...
