    Original vs Modified

Interesting… Yes, my car had been well used and abused by the time I got it. I figured the original engine had been rebuilt at least twice before I went through it. I’m still amazed that the car was #’s matching after the use this car must have seen in its AZ days. When it was moved from Tucson...

    $20k-$30k for a paint job?

Thanks, but not quite there yet. However, the paint would score a perfect mark, that I'm sure of, it better at that price. lol

    $20k-$30k for a paint job?

I guess I’m the elephant in the room, lol. $50k+ a few years back. I won’t get into too many specifics here but his shop rate was $85/hr and I was billed 500-600 hours. This was a top notch award winning paint and restoration shop in my area and here in Canada, everything is just more expensive...

    71-73 Mustang Exhuast

Wow… I’ve ordered two complete systems from them and the fit was well, almost perfect. Certainly, I did not have to add any metal to have it fit. I would have contacted them and I’m sure they would have made it right?

    Shipping sucks

I easily paid out $5k in shipping costs to restore my J Code Mustang. Yes, being in Canada adds at least 30% to the shipping costs from the USA and yes, FedEx is a complete ripoff for cross border shopping. PreCovid, I got a US Mailing address and then went across once in a while to pick up a...

AUSTIN VERTS ENGINE REBUILD FROM HELL

That’s a tough pill to swallow, for sure. We hope to find that one good shop who will build the engine we hope for. Harder to find good knowledge rebuilders today, throw away society and easier to just put something different and new in…. When I needed my original 429cj engine rebuilt, I was...

    Painting new fuel tank?

I reused my original tank, dents and all, when I restored my car. I was going to buy a new one, but the original was so clean inside that I decided to paint it… I used the Eastwood Fuel Tank Paint and it came out very nice IMO

What did you do to your car today?

Yes sir, good eye. The new garage is 5 feet longer, 4 feet wider and 1 foot taller. Will be perfect for me moving forward. It was tight in the current place, but we knew we would not be staying. Bought a place on almost an acre And I will build an additional 2 car garage in the next couple years.

What did you do to your car today?

Moving to a new home is always an experience… Have to make sure the mini fleet gets there safely)) Two of three have made the trip safely, I was even able to drive the yellow Coupe yesterday, the weather was excellent.  This time, I also have to disassemble the 4-post lift, transport and...

    1971 Mach 1 429 CJ 4 speed

Cheap Cdn dollars?? No such thing. Very expensive to get those here in Canada. From what I see, USA inflation is heading North… prices are rising and nothing will be cheap anywhere anymore…

New Reproduction of the 1971 - 1973 Alternator Splash Shield

When this issue was discussed on the 429 site back in the mid 90’s, we learned that this was one of those items that not all 71 BB Mustang’s received… Similar to the fender top splash shields by the door’s… My two 71 429 car’s that I have owned show no evidence of these shields ever being...

    New video up!

It’s a process… the only advice I would give is to completely assemble the dash and its components outside the car and then install the assembly as a unit. Everything else is pretty straightforward IMO. Enjoy.
