    It’s just habit....

I don’t think it was cleaning it, more, just age and heat fried it over time. This was and Oakland CA car. Yes, just a plate and egr valve, but with added AC and California emissions.... This car probably has as much emission stuff, hoses, etc as you could get on one of our car’s. I’ve labelled...

    It’s just habit....

Was this a one time use? Ie. Remove it and you may not get it to connect as well again? That is why I chose not to remove it, didn’t want to take the chance... Looking at it, to try and resecure it after you pry it loose, would require a special round clamping plier of some kind. I get the cost...

    It’s just habit....

Funny how you approach a new acquisition in the same manner every time.... I’ll just clean a few things up in the engine bay, I told myself... Ha, wound up removing most of it... This engine has never really been touched, definitely has never been apart to this extent before. I will clean the...

What did you do to your car today?

Sadly, no. Someone had the carpet out before and removed it. It did not come with the paperwork for the car. Ticked off... You can see a piece of it stuck to the tar/insulation on the floor.

What did you do to your car today?

Moved on to the interior... Found the front passenger floor area had been spray pained silver to cover up surface rust. Now I know why the heater core is bypassed in the engine compartment... Looks like I will be changing that out now while the car is like this. I will rust proof all the hidden...

    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Floating caliper secured to the main hub with this bracket. I just completed this brake job on my 73 Coupe. Ford refers to it as a "stabilizer" in the Master parts catalogue.

That piece should be reinstalled when you re-do the brakes. Most brake parts rebuild kits include it and it helps to stabilize the caliper and I believe, for anti rattling purposes.

What did you do to your car today?

Have been working on this car for the first time since I bought it in the the Fall, 2019. All new brakes finished and ready to go.... Got to love California car’s, you can still see the date of mfr. of the rear brake drums. I’ve also Krown rust proofed it, changed out the rear diff...

73 Q Code Air Cleaner Flexible Air Duct

Thanks Steve! I have never seen people repairing these either, was interested to see if anyone here had tackled. I know most just discarded the piece and the flexible tubing it was attached too. But you know me, keep it original.... Cheers

73 Q Code Air Cleaner Flexible Air Duct

Has anyone restored one of these? Mine is ripped and I either need to repair it or find a replacement. If anyone has a nice one they can part with, PM please and thanks. I'm curious if anyone has tried to fix one and how they went about it....

    Battery tray apron support panel.

I missed these being available back in 2016/17 when I was redoing the body for paint. I had to have my shop fabricate one, which they did a nice job on; at $85/hr shop rate...

What did you do to your car today?

Nice Coupe! Although I am a bit of a purist when it comes to these car's, you did a great job with the bumper upgrades. Too bad about the 73 front bumper mishap. Car sounds nice too. Enjoy your ride.

I would add: door hinges, door latches, hood release, door and trunk key lock mechanisms, emergency brake system, clutch actuation components... sure I missed a few. For me, it’s all about continual ongoing regular maintenance. Take care of them they take care of you on the road...

What did you do to your car today?

Finally getting round to doing some work on the 73 Q-Code 4-spd. Coupe I bought in the Fall of 2019. I only did an oil change (and a master Cylinder when it went in for Provincial Certification) on it last year and drove it a few times in the summer... Its a pretty original car, except they...
