    Tire sizes

Rodger that on the CC’s. They didn’t have my size and I put on the TA’s and yes, the browning affect started about two weeks after they were on. Performance is good but scrubbing them white is really annoying.

    That’s a great idea! ;)

Correct colors for manual transmission and bell housing

What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

Pulled the Ariens out and gave her the once over twice to ensure she’s race ready (STA-BIL did it’s job again) since we don’t know if were getting 3” or 15”… I wish I had that delta of being wrong or right in my job!

Kilgon, Thank you for posting that. I still have good results in opening the hood, checking oil and radiator levels, giving her the eyeball check and then cracking the throttle with 1 1/2 pulls and she starts. Yes, depending on weather her in WI., I may have to adjust the tension on the E-choke...

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Pete, I’m no expert as others are on here but I will say this after my recent experience. I have a droptop and is sub-framed connected but not as rigid as a hard top so 400hp and as much torque as I could achieve was in my goal. That was all accomplished with a flat tappet cam valve-train...

    Opinions on going EFI

My guy believes they make a 700 but I haven’t researched too much yet. I didn’t mention this in my earlier posts but we did put on his 750 holley for a two week test in Sept and the engine liked it at as did I when it got past that initial “burp” the 670 also has. Maybe she needs a tweener with...

Hydraulic lifter survey Re: Isky ISK-432-HY

Like I said earlier when the engine builder came to look at the cam, he asked if “they” broke it in, as they then also dynoed it at their shop and delivered it to our shop. As some others have questioned Comp cams, I have no problems with them as the roller cam that I put back in is another Comp...

TY, more great feedback right there. The 670 is my brother’s anyways on loan for life if needed, and it was used when we put it on. Like I said earlier, Oshkosh is 2 hours away and after 6 mons he wanted it out of his shop more than I wanted her back on the road after my nightmare with the cam...

I hear you. That and others experiences so far don’t have my first foot on the fence at this point.

I appreciate your input and sucks to hear your unpleasant experience. This is why I asked about this topic as I’m not ready to give up on getting my baby dialed in with a 670/700/750 cfm and a choke system that works for the midwest seasons. We do however have a Holley rep nearby in the Chicago...

    What would you do?

I’m not in the know of why you got to the point of the car being deemed totaled but the frame “slightly” bent is no biggie to straighten out on a unit body if it is only “slightly” bent. The rest of what you say is routine maint (to me) and not expensive in the bigger picture assuming the...

Thank you sir. I’m ok with the replumbing for return to tank if needed, etc. I don’t want a “messy” hide the wires deal or a finicky system. Plain jane consistent performance is all I need. Thank you for responding!

That’s an interesting set up going blown and I would never consider letting my wife putting her foot on the throttle if that was under my hood!

Hydraulic lifter survey Re: Isky ISK-432-HY

Oh there was more to it than that… when we tore it down there were several issues with evidence of studs not torqued properly, etc. We documented everything during disassembly and when the engine builder came to look it over, the first thing out of his mouth was “we did a dyno break-in on this...

Hydraulic lifter survey Re: Isky ISK-432-HY

I ran zinc after my rebuild with FT and within 6 months washed out the #2 exhaust lobe and the finger pointing, lack of accountability from builder to cam maker started so I went RR and run straight 10/30 and all has been good. Johnson lifters has my future business if ever needed on a...

    Convertible Top Boot

73, that’s an interesting take as I feel like when the cover isn’t on she looks incomplete and I’m not respecting her. Personally, I love the look of having it on and it not being perfect, but perfect enough for how she was born 50 years ago and still the original.
