Sounds like you have the throttle plates open to much. Carb needs to be pulled off and reset the plates to have the proper opening of the transfer slots.

I can turn from lock to lock with one finger on my 72 Mach. It steers and handles very well with the stock power steering set up. I have no idea how it could be much better. I did however replace the front and rear sway bars, but that was a handling up grade which works very well.

If you have an automatic transmission when in heavy traffic just put it neutral to take the load off the engine. That’s what I do in my Mach, but only in heavy traffic. Any other time it runs at normal temps.

So very sorry to see this, had it happen to me a few years back. Glad to hear that you are ok. Was able to get my car fixed back up and it’s actually better than it was before. I have Hagerty and they covered everything, hopefully your coverage will be enough or it may get totaled. Good luck...

And, of course the hood blackout is to far back. The tires look like crap too! Personally I would never by a vehicle from Gateway, they are a rip off in my opinion.

I’m in the boat as you Manny, not real happy with the paint on my hood either. My painter used his own recipe and wouldn’t even consider using the hot rod black like I wanted him to. Now I’m getting light scratches on it from gently cleaning it.

No matter what you decide to do, just make sure that the hood blackout pattern isn’t put to far back. I think the wrap would be just fine.

I use Hagerty also. They have been very good to me. Had an accident and they covered everything and didn’t raise my rates. I just recently bumped up the guaranteed value and they didn’t ask for any pictures, did it with no questions asked.
