Sorry, posting stuff twice

I figured out the H/M air cleaner and got that installed. It has the original Distibutor with electronic ignition installed. Would it be worth swapping a different distributor?

Finally figured out the air cleaner issues

Don't know what your budget is, but I have had really good luck with Strange Engerineering. You can buy a complete bolt on rear end for under 3K. They will narrow it for no extra cost. I understand what you are saying. This is a street car and will only see the track once in a while. I am looking to optimize street performance without getting further into the engine. I just want to get the most out of what I already have.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't really interested in the numbers, just to get the carb and timing dialed in to get the most out of the engine as it is now.

I have definately been down this hole before. When I was a kid I had a 65 mustang with a high winding 289 in it. It ran low 13's at 120 MPH. I had traction issues even then. I bent a valve and instead of redoing the heads, I put a 351C in it. A lot of work and money. Had to notch the shock...
