Air Filter for 71 429 SCJ, Ram Air

Thank you for the tip. I took my existing filter to NAPA. The manager called Wix on my behalf. But no joy. But NAPA itself had just what I needed. Perfect fit for my 429 SCJ. The manager at NAPA (Crystal) really knew her stuff. She is a credit to NAPA.

Air Filter for 71 429 SCJ, Ram Air

Looking for an air filter that fits my 429 SCJ. Ram Air set up. Two inches high--cannot be any higher--and just shy of 14 inches in diameter. Current filter has no manufacturer's name on it. K&N does not make one. Neither does FRAM. Auto parts stores no help. Who has a similar-sized filter?

    Fuse for the horn

Does anyone know for sure which numbered fuse in the 1971 Mach 1 fuse panel governs the two horns? The photo from my 1971 Car Shop Manual, Volume Three, Electrical, 34-30-02, does not indicate any fuse for the horn.

    Fuel Additives

I use a classic car (a 1979 Ford Thunderbird) as a daily driver, and drive my 1971 Mach 1 429 SCJ, 2-3 times per week. So, consequently, I have had to find non-ethanol fuel for both. Wawa sells ethanol-free fuel for my 1979 Thunderbird. But I found a local oil company that sells 101 octane...

This Gold-Glow, 1972 Mach 1, Q Code, 351-4v, 37,000 miles, one of my former ponies, is quite similar: but this one did have the 1/2 black vinyl top, along with Hurst 4-speed, Black deluxe interior, AC, etc.
