    72 'R' code at Mecuum

I, too, have let a few rare 72 R Code pass by for various reasons, all seemingly unwise today. One R Code that I let go by was a Bright Lime/Black interior. There is an R Code fully restored in my area. Yellow with only 4 options. Georgia car.

Deluxe door panels do not line up with door handle movement

Need some feedback. I removed the standard door panels from my 1971 Mach 1 and tried to replace them with the deluxe door panels, which the car originally came with. I purchased the deluxe units off of ebay and assumed they were OEM. Unsure if they are re-pops. Problem: Once the panels are...

OMG! $88,000!!! I've sold 2 convertibles in this color 10 times nicer than this car for $25,000 and $35,000 in the past 8 years !!!

No surprise that the Holy Grail for you would be a Bright Lime, R Code convertible. I let an 72 R Code, Mach 1, in Bright Lime, slip thru my hands about 10-12 years ago. A trucker in Kansas was letting it go due to insufficient use of the car, but I thought he was asking too much. In hindsight...

Kevin: You are undoubtedly the King of detail and restoration of 71-73 Mustangs. The pictures show this to be self-evident. Far better than factory. Your work is simply incredible. Wonder what your cars would bring at Barrett-Jackson. And, is the pictured convertible a 1972 Q Code?

    Amazing Collection of 71 Mustangs

This is the first time I've heard of someone with a relentless passion for the 1971 Mach 1 429 SCJ. Now we can see just how valuable they are and will become. There must be some of these cars still out there, waiting to be discovered and restored. I found mine after a long while of searching...

R code sportsroof-how many are left? Any owners on the forum?

Your story of the 72 R Code is so similar to my 71 J Code, 429 SCJ. The Original owner (in North Carolina) killed in 1975. Car sat disassembled until I purchased all the pieces and put it together with motor, tranny, and drivetrain rebuilt in the last few years. Back on the road again today here...
