Unfortunately what you are describing with pricing has happened all over the place. Trying to complete a pool project and quotes from electricians have gone up at least 3X since 2020.

I know my '71 J-Code Mach 1 definitely has a strong gas smell in the garage after shutting it down. Dissipates after a little while and I also run a exhaust vent in the garage. My vapor canister is not there and I'm not sure about the line from the tank to the firewall.
