    Occupations

I say go for it, large companies have always taken very good care of me. The benefits are a huge life factor as well, especially if you have a family. Not having to pay $20,000 in hospital bills for the birth of a child, for example, is a huge benefit. It's nice having that cushion to fall on...

    408 stroker 73 mach

Nice thing about the Windsor is that is shares the same front dress as a late model Ford 302 (5.0L). That means you can run factory serpentine and all of the much improved and more durable accessories (power steering, 3G alternator, etc.) with very little effort. In fact, you can even run the...

GOT THE NEW FAUX 351CJ RUNNING

Nice work! Very impressed with the shutting of the passenger side door. I wish mine shut that nicely!

    390 bigblock vs 351w smallblock

I have found a solution! 1 3/4" primary tube headers for a 351W in a '71-73 Mustang, with power steering, and whatever transmission combination you have. Accufab Racing. I spoke with George Klass of Accufab and he's building me a set, should receive them sometime in August!

    What tranny

I just pulled the B&M Racing C6 out of my car. It was an excellent transmission with awesome shift quality. Had a 3000 RPM stall Hughes converter and 3.50:1 rear gears. However, the roads here are very high speed and long distance between cities... you generally will drive 85-90 mph on...

I don't know, once you've driven a vehicle with OD it's tough to accept not having it.

Edelbrock performer vs RPM air gap

I don't have an RPM air-gap intake, but I have a Victor 5.8 EFI and it is an air gap design as well. I've noticed that the air charge temps are a near ambient most of the time, as long as I'm moving. I'm using a 1/2" phenolic spacer as well, though.

    What tranny

LOL That looks massive next to the C6. It's supposed to have started its evolutionary path from the C6, just as the AOD and 4R70W have evolved from the C4 light duty transmissions... I had no idea the E4OD was that large, however. I just read that the trans is 8" longer than a C6, but the...

    408 stroker 73 mach

To my knowledge, there are no 1.75" primary tubed headers available off the shelf that will fit a '71-73 Mustang with a 351W. I believe that FPA lists a header that is 1.75" for 65-73s, but after I emailed them asking for details and pricing they responded with:

    What tranny

The E4OD is a good option for those with the big block bellhousing. There's a lot of parts out there to improve their performance as well, but it's really an evolved C6 with OD. The dimensions will be very similar to that of a C6.

    OD trans options

No worries. I appreciate just having people scrutinize what I'm doing because it really helps in not making any mistakes! I have looked into the Gear Vendors overdrive units, but they're very expensive and the C6 still wouldn't have lock up, so I ruled them out a while ago. I've learned a few...

    Cobra Disc Brake conversion

LOL, yes, they do have very good prices. They also have very good customer service. I'm still not sure who makes brackets to mount 13" late model Cobra front brakes to an OE disc spindle, though!

    Gauge cluster lens

I have a new lens, but I ended up polishing my existing one because modifying the new one for the odometer looked to be a pretty large PITA.

You talkin to me? Of course, I have an account with Rock Auto. That's pretty much how I did my '89 5.0 13" brake upgrade.

    OD trans options

Guys, the 4R70W has a computer controlled (PWM) torque converter solenoid to control lockup duty cycle. I would expect it to go into lockout under low load cruise conditions, so I don't think that's an issue that should affect the converter stall speed selection. Here's what Hughes Performance...

    OD trans options

Just curious why everyone is suggesting such a low stall speed... I've called FTI, Hughes, TCI, B&M, and Dirty Dog and all of them have suggested a 10" converter with a stall speed between 3000 and 3500 RPM, and this is for a 4R70W.

    OD trans options

The Hughes 3000 stall converter in front of my B&M Street/Strip C6 works very well on the street and cruising, minus the highway. My revs are at 3500 RPM on the highway though, it's pretty bad. I've added some serious cooling for my transmission using a stacked plate aluminum cooler in...

    OD trans options

Does anyone have an opinion on torque converter manufacturers for a 4R70W? I'm going to need a minimum 3000 RPM stall converter and of course, I want the PWM controlled lockup. Dirty Dog recommended that I use a 3500 RPM stall speed. I'm currently using a Hughes 3000 RPM stall unit in my C6...

    Cobra Disc Brake conversion

I don't see this kit on their website... can you post a link, please? I've ordered a complete set of rear Cobra brakes for my car from Vintage Venom. The cost from them comes in quite a bit lower than the other options and their kit includes rotors, lines, calipers, mounts, etc. at $550...

Help with stepping up to 17" wheels

I've been driving it around for a little while and the ride is noticeably smoother and crisper handling than before. I believe the BFGs I had on the car previously were 20 years old! I'm not sure why the Sumitomos are so cheap, but they're excellent sticky tires. Very happy with them.
